I've experimented with some different gem configurations. The only thing that I have kept is swapping in conc effect for life bounty during boss fights -if- it's not a very fast moving boss. All of the other support gems variations I have tried end up feeling worse than the original setup.

I will say that as I do more high level maps with mods on boss difficulty 4, the build does occasionally get 1 or 2 shot. I don't love that, and I am trying to figure out a way to become tankier without giving up too much of the offense. Getting a high life roll on every piece of gear could be one way, though that looks expensive. Another possibility is trying to switch to AR/ES, though that might require reworking the tree somewhat, as we aren't near a lot of nodes that support AR/ES right now. This is the puzzle to solve for taking the build to the next level. I am still enjoying it, but I don't love the glass-cannon feeling in the top end maps.

I posted an update on my build with my solution to the same problem. Basically I'm just using a 2H + Shield with double 2H on weapon swap for when you actually need the damage. Since shockwave totem snapshots +to all melee skills you can drop your shockwave totems then swap back to shield for safety during boss fights.

Hi Pls!

Great idea on shield.

I'm just wondering if:

a) the passives on your thread have been updated to reflect your latest build with shield..if not can you please link
b) what type of shield are using?
c) how are you getting to 3500 hp
d) are you investing into passive block/block% nodes why and why not?

I'm also doing 15+ maps and ya I find getting 1/2 shot can happen on any map t12+ if you are not focused. The gameplay for dual wield is quite erratic requires lots of focus..shield build seems cool!

Awaiting your response!

Cheers

There is a new build on YT with someone doing T18 maps with Titan and max Block, you might want to check it out for inspiration. Its by XP Games.
Amazing build, I was struggling in the caimpaign some days ago, sadly the majority of warrior skills didn't feel good to use, I searched for what my totem peers were using and your guide helped to refine my own.

Right now I have only +12 to melee skills(+6 in main hand, +4 off hand, +2 in amulet) and I feel very powerful

Delighted--Go get em!

So, I've finally gotten a lvl 20 gem drop and now have lvl 39 shockwave totems, which appears to be the max. Here are the stats on my tree at lvl 92:

Mapping with 4 totems out: 264k dps
Bossing with 4 totems out (subbing conc effect for life bounty: 374k dps
Base cost per totem: 1176 life. 706 with Inspiration.

Any update to the passive tree?
What jewel stats would be most important?
I just got to Stampede, when I got ripped. Respeced to that build. +11 at lvl54 is very smooth.

You can corrupt lvl20 gems for +1 gem lvl

Going for full block shield, looks just like the reasonable solution, but Destille Fury is expensive

Glad your respec is going well! The idea of corrupting the one lvl 20 gem I found on the one 6 link I am using makes me slightly ill, since the gem can lose a level also. If I find a second lvl 20 gem and perfect jewelers then I might give that a go. Lvl 40 shockwave feels like a fun meme to try to achieve. But 39 is pretty strong. :)

Have thought about the switching back and forth for shield based defense, but tbh there are only a few deaths (for me) where that would have made any difference. Mostly it has been lack of sufficient attention to post-death ground effects or a boss mechanic that I handled badly. My conclusion is that I like the build the way it is (dual wielding and only moving to shield to shield charge around) and I need to bring up my skill/awareness level to be able to play it smoothly. As always, ymmv.

I have tinkered with the passive tree but made no major changes. The one option I have taken is to path through the lower central totem cluster instead of around it. This adds one travel node to the tree in the form of a jewel slot. For the three jewel slots I now have, I have looked for increased duration, which allows me to unspec the duration wheel. Increased armour and any sort of relevant damage or stun buildup are good secondary jewel stat options. There may be others--I have not surveyed all of the jewel stats in detail.
