Why POE2’s Direction Is Worrying for Veterans and Newcomers Alike

"
There is a massive influx of bots and trolls on here lately saying OP is not justified or just "wrong".

It'd be nice if there was a big display next to each comment how many hours that user has in PoE1 to see if they are just someone full of themselves or an actual respondant

That's kinda already there. You can get a fairly good idea from the PoE1 Challenge Ranks next to ppl's name and the Supporter Icons beneath it.

This is so hard to gauge because I have a lot of things I don't like about POE 2. The speed of white mobs and deadliness of them, feels like poe 1 but on poe engine. Strongboxes at all. Ritual exemplifies these problems even more so.

Yet I see so much feedback from people that reeks of poe 1 brain and it just makes me laugh. Bosses should be threatening and take time. If you think dodge rolling and respecting a bosses mechanics is boring, you dont want a boss fight. You want a loot pinata that rewards u for hitting it a couple of times.

No one has said the boss fights should be faster. Literally no one. You are making shit up. People just want faster movement speed and Movement Skills in the game. Its atrociously unfun to walk ages across these gargantuan maps, who are you kidding pretending like this games pacing isn't utterly fucked.

No amount of seethe from you will ever change the fact that "trying to attract a new audience" is suicide for a live service game...

Do you people even read what you write before you post it?

Attracting a new audience is suicide... seriously.
Out of this huge essay, all you said is just make poe 1 again. Sorry homie, but i like the direction this games going and i really hope they dont listen to you. I want it slow, challenging. Dodging and combos belong in games. You want 200% movement speed and one click builds go back to poe 1.

Yes, it is. Because they have discarded nearly all the things PoE fans love about PoE, we never asked for this. Not many of us will be back for leagues in this game if it stays like this, and the new audience isn't enough for this game to stay alive as a seasonal game. Nearly all of the new audience people praising this game are one playthrough players, its a flavor of the month game for vast majority of them.

When you make a sequel the best business strategy is simply making the game for the audience you already have.

But you are yet another person who has never actually played PoE, so what makes you think your endorsement of the game matters? GGG is looking for an audience that keeps coming back every league.
None of you "I love slow games" people will start fresh every few months to go through a 50 hour campaign to then play extremely slow Atlas progression.

"Dodging and combos"
You already have to dodge enemy hits in PoE, further proving you haven't played it. Also countless builds in it use multiple activated skills, its up to the player. The game has actual freedom in build creation unlike PoE2 which streamlines and forces players into specific playstyle.

Also "slow, challenging" lmao. Only the slow part is true. This game is not challenging, just tediously slow.

Any build in poe1 that uses more than 1 skill is considered shit. Im living proof that your statement about players is taken out of your ass. I did play poe and i say i like poe2 more. I would prefer it even more if mapping expierience was the same as in first 2 acts.
i just stopped playing poe2
