Stop dooming for crying out loud. It’s the holiday season, people have families in town etc…the game has a very solid base and is a lot of fun to play.

You POE fan boys keep dooming as if you are trying to scare GGG into making knee jerk reactions.

A LOT of the issues are that the games base is not very solid actually.
OP listed many of these examples already. Talent tree, skill gem system, Atlas, crafting - nearly every core system that the game is built upon is absolutely awful compared to PoE's original versions of them.

Your opinions genuinely do not matter, guy who has never once played PoE in your life.

This is exactly why newcomers won’t take you completely serious. You act as if people who have never played POE don’t have an opinion.

Fact is , many people who are playing POE2 didn’t want anything to do with POE1. Your crowd is trying to dictate every decision GGG makes.

You guys are acting like tyrants.

The newcomers are simply saying “Hey there is a really solid game here that is really fun let’s keep the trajectory on this”

Ex D3 and D4 player, just a few hours (around 500) on PoE1: came here just to say that I agree with OP, except maybe for the jems and the skill tree, but that's me being ignorant of PoE1 probably.

Being plagued with the crashes, I came in this section of the forums in search of good vibes. And now I just want to put the game down until they change stuff. I think I'll play something completely different during the festivities.

GGG DOES want to punish the player though. They have made it abundantly clear that is their sole purpose and intent. By making these design decisions they are intentionally trying to punish players in every way they can.

Everyone needs to call them out on their mistakes or it won't change

I love and respect GGG a lot, PoE1 became great over time because of them, but when someone has their head so far up their own ass Ive always felt they need to be reminded of that and right now that's GGG.

All of the horrible design decisions are baked into the almighty vision. Their vision as it stands, sucks.

It doesn't matter at all who "newcomers" don't take seriously, again, you do not matter. You have no context to understand how this game is a massive downgrade from PoE in nearly every single way.
And its a massive failure by GGG for this to be the case with PoE2, they wanted PoE fans to be fans of PoE2 as well. You arent going to be seasonal players for a decade. And neither we will. This game is doomed to die if it keeps catering to one playthrough gamers like you.

No one said it should be an exact copy, strawman argument.
It should be built on the same core mechanics and depth, because that is what a sequel is. A sequel does not throw away the working mechanics that made the previous game successful in the first place, and replace them with objectively inferior, dumbed down mechanics, tedious speed of progression and 1% of the build diversity and build creating freedom.

No, you are bitching and whining and claiming the sky is falling. Even chicken little wasn't as bad as you people are.

This is not POE 1. Just in case you didn't get that, this is NOT POE1. It will NEVER be POE1. If you want to play POE1 I highly recommend you to GO PLAY POE1.

This is POE2, where GGG is trying to attract a NEW audience. POE1 isn't going anywhere, it is still getting updates and new leagues. It would be FUCKING STUPID for GGG to make a new POE1 to just cannibalize the players they already have locked in. They need to attract NEW players, ones that are not interested in POE1.

TL;DR, chicken little needs to STFU and go play POE1 if they want to play POE1.

If you have actual feedback to give then be constructive and do so. Whining that it's not just like POE1 is not constructive feedback.

All they will need to do is ONE league reset and everything the OP said will hit home like a ton of bricks.
