Jamanra (Act 2) is everything wrong in PoE2

"
Have you put any effort into gearing your character at all?

Uhm, the game doesn't really present that opportunity. The best drops come from bosses on the FIRST kill, so if you were unlucky, well that's it. You can now farm the juggernauth till level 40 all you like and you probably won't get an upgrade, or enough currency for one.
In general i think the issue is that the game difficulty is progressively linear instead of exponential. Campaign should be easier and mapping harder

I was kind of struggling with my minion build up until a threshold and after that the game became incredibly easy, and even easier with recent nerfs

With 6000 ES, capped res and 73% block clearing T16+2 maps is easier than doing the campaign

And this is a large contributing factor for why the market is inflating in an incredible speed right now

IGN = Morlinus

asmon sucked as warrior and could not find any rare loot for his warrior. and he kept selling blues that were upgrades because he can't do basic math.

Have you put any effort into gearing your character at all? Minion builds are one of the most broken right now, you should have absolutely decimated that boss. Asmongold beat it with minions in a matter of seconds and he's not even an ARPG player.

I would strongly advise you to check shops (they refresh on level up) and review your passive tree/skills. You're probably sitting on some major upgrades. It is a requirement in this game to go back to town and gear your character. It's not like PoE 1 where you can just pick up a white item from the floor every now and then and just blast through the entire game mindlessly.

Since the days when streamers didn't have to queue at league start, I always suspect that GGG knows the streamer accounts and that they run on a different loot pool than us normal guys. When I watch Ziz, Asmongold, etc - they tend to find exceptional loot every session - more than I find in a season.

And yes, I looked at Asmongold and what he had - I'd say his minion build does 5x or more the damage as I do. It's not the tree - it's the gear that is just ... garbage. And I craft every white base and I check the vendors every level: Always garbage, except once for my warrior - he bought a very nice weapon.
Agry.
I have been trying to beat it for about a week. It's kinda boring already. I'm waiting for them to do something with it or it's just not my game.

Ps: the soul bosses make more sense :)
I haven't had the same issue here, but I think I understand the problem. There is no build diversity for a lot of classes. There shouldn't be a best way to do a build where the game forces you to do it that way or you can't succeed. Why give players choice if those choices can never result in success? They might as well remove the majority of skills and just leave the good ones.
Jamanra is far, far away from "everything wrong in poe2"

Please don't try to do a commentary on the whole state of the game based on one fight.

Well, the bosses are really hard if you had really bad luck with equipment.

I don't see it as critically as OP, but Act 1 and Act 2 boss can be very brutal. Mad Wolf is hard with low damage weapon and no ice resistance. Act 2 boss is hard without lgithning res and some ES/Life.

The problem is, that the player has zero control over gear progression. All you can do is hope for a good drop or that vendors sell something useful. But it's kinda annoying to always check vendors, to be honest. And even then it's not guarenteed. And crafting? Lets not talk about that RNG thing...
In PoE1, the vendors at least always sold white or blue res rings. That made merveil and other bosses quite easy and these bosses were already far easier then PoE2 act bosses.
Yeah. I had zero difficulty with the end of act bosses but I knew enough from POE1 to go to the trade site and get my resists up well before I reached them. If you don't know that, you're in trouble. The game doesn't warn you you're resists are too low or you don't have enough health, mana, potions, dps, etc... to have any chance or not or that you'll have to go to the trade site or grind for days to have correct gearing. It's not really a new player friendly experience in that way.

I think it's kinda sad that the game is designed in a way, that you have to rely on trade. SSF is no fun right now. :(
you think you hate him now? wait til you have to fight him again juiced up in endgame
