What about defensive stats? How on earth will you do higher tier maps with this?

Op pls post gems

" who cares lol Ok but seriously, If you want more defense you can build it on the tree and buy the gear for it, the core I linked gives you like 40 flex points at level 75. If you want even more defense you can dump the extra projectile nodes even, wildshards/unleash is probably enough. ATM I'm running hybrid MoM without EB, and a bunch of ES nodes. Some times I respec and try out EB with my good ES gear. It all works, its just up to personal taste. The passive tree is massively simplified and all the good defensive nodes are obvious and easy to reach. I have 1500 health, 1500 ES, and 2000 mana (250 regen and 70% damage to mana recoup). It feels fine. The more rippy the map the more defensive you have to play, because no matter what you're not getting physical damage reduction. The only complexity comes from making the decision to go MoM and managing the admittedly serious mana issues, or gearing up for CI and the sacrifices you might need to make for that. For real though? Fireball freezes everything. You can get away with a lot by just magdumping into the void and freezing everything offscreen before its even close enough to shoot at you. Creating walls when you freeze things also gets everything in range of the walls to start shooting them (instead of you). The skill setup itself is inherently and extremely defensive. You're basically a marching fortress of exploding frost walls between you and the bad guys, who stay frozen anyways. There is the occasional type of rare mob that is trouble for the build, but I think that's the same for everyone. We have emergency hard cast wall spam, and double empower zones to 'set up' on dangerous rares. The strategy for the problem mobs is to just run back to a place with a wall to shotgun off of, freeze them, and then weapon swap to drop your buff, swap back and drop second buff, and then light them up. Same as a big boss. Last edited by Konried#2763 on Dec 14, 2024, 3:54:08 PM

updated, build is entering its final form as level 9/10 maps are feeling very smooth and I can see the only thing left to do is spend massive amounts of exalts to trade for better gear
currently speed farming level 7 and 8 maps since I have a bunch left over, and can just regal and go wildshards+scatter+unleash+controlled destro fireballs are the way, no other gem setup comes close to potential burst damage, this is because all the 'less' damage projectiles from unleash actually gain flat damage from firewall and all these extra projectiles are multiplied by the effects of mana tempest massively it's easy to see at this point that scaling wise lightning is superior because you can exposure and penetrate only a single element, and there are much better damage options for lightning more than likely the 'high damage' fireball build will be fire to lightning conversion shock stacking for absolutely ridiculously huge hard cast lightning conduits, when I get to pinnacle bosses and if cold doesn't have the answer, that is what I will switch to Last edited by Konried#2763 on Dec 14, 2024, 7:41:16 PM

I got a ton of questions, any chance we could discuss in DM/discord?
|
|
Just a quick question: I'm levelling and just picked up a staff with Sigil of Power... Is there a reason you specifically weapon swap over to cast it? I assumed originally you couldn't cast it in the other weapon slot, but it lets me cast it just fine.

" if you mean why am I not switching automatically well yeah I do, I'm just saying its the weapon swap skill, so you need to swap back maybe there is a way to swap back on using fireball, that would be ideal, but I havent seen a way to do that yet Last edited by Konried#2763 on Dec 15, 2024, 12:06:41 AM

" just ask here so other people can have their questions answered if they are similar |
|
" Turns out that dumdum me didn't realise that using it automatically swapped to the weapon. I thought I was able to use the skill but just wasn't getting stats from the staff lol. Just hit level 33 so I picked up the gloves, instantly having a lot more fun than previously. Though I don't have any other skills yet, just freezing fireballs errywhere lol |
