When a new title like Path of Exile 2 emerges, it's surprising to see how part of the community seems more interested in the game being an exact replica of its predecessor, rather than appreciating the novelties and creative effort it entails. It's as if any change is perceived as a personal offense, forgetting that the goal of a sequel is not to repeat the past, but to offer a renewed experience.
The most curious thing is that many of those who criticize nerfs are the same ones who constantly copium about the most broken builds that some streamers use, as if the game only makes sense when everything is too easy. Can't you really have a little imagination and try other builds? It seems that if they nerf a skill, the game is already "a piece of shit" and it's time to say goodbye. Perhaps if they explored beyond their comfort zone, they would discover how much this game has to offer.
CoF/CoC/CoI/CoS are not nerfed. It was killed. And as i said before - it wasn't OP or overperforming. Just comfortable fun. And now you tell players, who lost their characters AND currency, because they can't change ascendancy nor reset their skill tree, to find other ways to play the game, while they know there's always a possibility, that they can loose their characters with all the time and currency investments again in a blink of an eye. No "renewed experience" worth it.

Just an idea that maybe, just maybe GGG shouldn't let the janitor make the balancing changes. Never in my 30 years of gaming have I seen developers be so opposed to build diversity and in general just players having fun in the game they've spent years on making. Unbelievable.

The only way GGG will get feedback to help them improve things is if people want to play the game. Sure there are toxic people, but maybe not entirely without reason, people need to be able to voice things, it is up to the DEVs and moderators to decide which comments makes sense or not. Cursing at the DEVs or berating them is definitely not the way to get their attention though.
It will be interesting to see what the player base numbers on steam will look like in 24hours or so.

yeah, we need a free respec. i have 90k gold and i need 60k to respec just 21 points. yes it is doable, but it feels really bad.
I can't even do that because my passive tree is fully invested into Cast on Crit on the Monk side AND has the energy ascendancy. It costs way too much to respec all of that.

I've never seen a community implode on itself so efficiently after a single patch, most of which was objectively good changes.

I really find it upseting that they are pretending like everything is ok with the game while like 80% of people playing it are saying otherwise... They have no clue what are they doing with these updates...
Nope. Trigger builds aren't 80% of the player base

I wanted to do cast on crit when I eventually could get to that level, but I just hope they re-balance things a bit. Also playing the monk, and it has been fun, but even the minor things they changed nerf'd basic skills as well. I honestly hope they can find a way to get the balance they are looking for without killing the skills and options available to different classes.

i find it more curious that people such as yourself think that more people are mad about ANY nerfs when most of the feedback is more along the lines of 'changes were too heavy, made the build utterly useless and bricked a load of characters', or that Jonathan said we would be getting free respecs when large changes were made (we didnt).
are you perhaps forming strong opinions about something without taking 5 minutes to understand it?
