GGG - Stand true to what you said about player feedback
" Have you ever worked with a dataset like this before? Like telemetry data doesn't capture everything, and it isn't easy to pinpoint issues in a large dataset without a starting point. I know that you're probably the type that sees all the complaining as "crying", but that is exactly the starting point I'm talking about. You could see that this is the way that Mark does his job. He heard about some of these complaints, and either he is already testing these scenarios or will use that massive amount of telemetry data to investigate these complaints. But now that they've gone against your desires they're being "irrational" and aren't trusting the data. Sounds like you're the one who needs to learn to trust them. |

" I've been screaming into this void for a while. My breaking point was after 10 years I finally made a post on the feedback forums. (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3398993) Last edited by Kaboinglefop#0955 on Apr 9, 2025, 3:17:34 PM

The world would be a better place if we all ate tofu for every meal and worked out 2 hours a day. There are even a tiny tiny minority of people who prefer this routine, this is their natural progression.
But products are not measured by how well intentioned they are, they are measured by how enjoyable they are to the audience. Scream and bump your post all you want it doesn't change the fact that to a majority of players this doesn't align with what they consider fun. GGG has to decide if they want to cater to a small planning obsessed min maxers, or produce a game that most find enjoyable. If it's the former, fine, stop marketing the game and getting everyone's hopes up. You guys can have this slog fest. .2 was a massive error. It has jeopordized the entire project. How much time was spent internally working long hours to produce content few wanted? How much time will be invested to undo these wrongs if they so choose to fix them? How long will the players and employees be wondering if the next update will have those encroachign intentions of wonderous debilitations that are sure to make this game oh so punishingly fun? " ty for describing me, i felt included. I don't care about taste or joy, i care only about gains. Besides that, FINANCIALLY I am inclined to agree with you. Look at my packs, I will never out-spend all these $5-30 andies. Regardless, for the purity of the medium/art form, I think a little gatekeeping is necessary. |

"I think a little gatekeeping is necessary."
Well thanks at least for being honest. |

" Look what happened to d3 versus d2. D2 was art, lives forever, and is timeless. D3 is a fucking husk. Instead of a little gatekeeping, we wanted to get as many customers as possible. See the natural result? PoE2 has a chance to be the D2 of this era, as long as we don't try to drive it to be a PoE1 reskin, hence why I defend it vehemently. And look at my packs, it's also why I invest so much. Appealing to mass market often makes games distill what made them awesome. Look at FN before the BR and lootboxes... an actual niche once in a lifetime game that turned into a cash grab and then was killed. Last edited by Kaboinglefop#0955 on Apr 11, 2025, 2:08:14 PM
