Aim Assist is on by default for keyboard and mouse, no way to turn it off
I'd also like an option to turn aim-assist off.
There are some abilities which don't feel friendly with aim-assist. For example Bone Blast seems to center directly under the creature you're aiming at but the player will want to cast it in front of moving creatures to avoid it whiffing entirely. There are other abilities which have two or more use cases which seem to sort of assume what the player wants to do. Unearth comes to mind, if my aim is to use it to deal area damage it will frequently send the cone off in a completely different direction if there's a corpse nearby. This behavior breaks the quarterstaff attack interactions huge... as in, it causes things like your attacks to not hit Tempest Bell. Please put a priority on this.. thanks.

+1 Please give us an option to turn this off, I want my projectiles to go where my mouse is, not where some "selected target" is.

+1 during certain moments as mercenary it makes me miss cause im aiming where they are, not where they are going cause of the auto assist. As a witch using bone blast my god is it so infuriating when im trying to aim a head so it will activate when the person is actually over it but it will aim it at the target which means it misses cause by then the enemy has moved.

This is a relic from PoE 1, where hovering over a mob's hitbox locks your skill usage onto them as long as you hold down the skill.
Hopefully it gets changed to have an option to disable it. ign: Aan_allein

A toggle probably wouldn't hurt. In the meantime I've found that enabling "Attack In Place" helps a bit but you can't do that on everything

Please let us turn off this "lock on target" mechanic.
It feels terrible! I'm trying to cast frostbolt on a bunch of enemies, and it just targets whichever one I first click/held down on. The whole point of WASD is that I can move with one hand and target with the other! |
