Zalmarath, The Colossus glitchy one shot (HC experience ruined)

I like going in blind when I play games :D

Didn't know about this bug, arrived in HC SSF, thought that was a stupid amount of damage considering the hardest hit I had ever taken was maybe 150-200 dmg so I had to google some. Know about it now :p

Lost my best bow, I guess we don't HC until they patch it?

afked the fight with my minion char by staying next to the stairs - the bug doesn't reach that far.

The rest of my chars are lvl 27 waiting for a patch, don't want to risk it.

Wow, this mechanic needs better implementation. After the first time dying in HC to the one shot, I learned you have to stay on his bottom hand side to avoid. Cool mechanic in theory. I beat this boss several times with no issues after learning this.

My issue now is the boss was in a position where there was no where to stand, he one shot me even when I stuck to his bottom hand! I wish I had a pic to show, but when I died you could see the line created from his attack and there was virtually no room on the right to avoid it, maybe one step in…I don’t really see that level of perfection as being needed for an act 2 zone boss…

I think they "fixed" it.

You also can get 1shot at the stairs now (or probably always could). I saw the video from fpsthirsty where it appears it is a safe spot. Apparently not. Another hc char gone. So wouldn't do that.

To imagine they worked 5 years on basically 3 acts with that in the game lul. Close to all (or all?) the poe 1 bugs are also with us as the game uses the same code (even trading people too soon worsening their loading screen time still there).

Meanwhile they are duping temporalis in sc.

My experience with it is: when the boss is at 11~12 o'clock and you stand at the left side of the stairs his dagger 1shot did not hit me once and I did this boss fight multiple times now. When he moves and you switch to the right side of the stairs his 1shot ability did hit me almost all the time but since 'only' a few rocks hit me it was like 1/3 hp or half hp depending on the character.

So it still feels like the best strategy out there that I know of.

The best strategy would be of course if they'd fix it..

The dagger rocks can hit you in the stairs, but it wont kill you.

Or at least, didn't kill me. Only took like 1/4 or 1/3 of es + health pool.

I tested him on sc on my lvl 88 char. I took off all my gear so I also had 0 armour and tried to desperately get killed by him with no success. The most damage he did was ~800 after maybe 10 minutes of testing. Then again I saw a video in here of a dude dying with 1.5k hp/es to him in a 1 shot...

Afaik boss dmg doesn't scale down because of higher character level?

Hi, I'm sorry what you lost character, in two weeks since posting the video this is the first report of my guide not helping. Earlier I saw two other reports of deaths, but in those cases the guys were walking away from a rockfall and got hit by a dagger.

Please post details about the character deaths so it can help others: what point you were standing at (I see your "stairs" — do you mean the right or left side of the stairs?), where boss was located (~12 o'clock or 3 o'clock?), how much HP and Energy Shield you had etc.

Bump, seems GGG is back but the hotfix didn't mention this.
