[EA] Spark Stormweaver - Mana Stacking Archmage MoM+CI - freezing/electrocution

does increase chance to shock from weapon convert to chance to freeze when i equip the helmet?
Hi all

I wanted to add some comments as I am currently level 86 having used used a build fairly similar to the original shock build exclusively up until this point. I am hoping with these additional comments, we can refine the build.

As a first point - I run EB instead of CI.

With EB: ES: 4.2, Mana: 3.2, HP: 1.2
With CI: ES 8.5, Mana 2.0, HP: 0

When I use CI, there are too many times where enemies just straight-up pass through my mana pool and kill me, with my mana showing as full. I understand the effective HP is higher due to the numbers, but I don't know if this is because they are hitting me harder than the 2k mana pool, or something is a bit funky in the background. I tried it recently and was getting absolutely destroyed on T15's.

DPS
- Damage is fine. I do not think the build needs any more lightning pen, skill/spell damage, etc, outside of the uber-rare items that will cost 1k+ ex.

Death
- The only way I die is due to Volatile Plants. The clear fix to this is run CI or add Chaos Res. I think the latter is going to be the preferred option, due to what I said above.
- I prefer being able to spam life/mana flask using a "20% applied instantly" belt. It feels safer than CI.

Jewels
- ES/Spell Damage/% Mana on kill - the latter works better with an EB build as with 4 Jewels at 2% each, you are recovering around 300 mana per kill. It makes Breach a joke.

Spells
- Mostly agree with your build, however, I do run overabundance on Orb of Storms - there appears to be no drawback to having 2x of these as the timing isn't an issue (we use them up anyway)

Spirit
- To run AM you need spirit. Dont waste this on your body armour (in my opinion). With the nerf to CoS/CoF, we only need miniscule amounts. I picked up an enchanted helm that had 20 spirit on with allowed me to run AM+mods.

Curses
- I honestly don't use them during gameplay. They take too long to cast, cost a lot of mana, and enemies are perma-stunned anyway. Outside of bossing, I think their utility is low (please tell me otherwise). I think there are points we can re-allocate here.

Amulet
- I added "All Natural" to it. It only saves 3 points, but I was struggling for viable candidates. It looks like one of the best nodes on the board for us (albeit currently very pricy).

Staff v Wand/Shield
- Can you explain the benefits to me for the latter? We get +7 on our staff. I cant see how we get close to that with wand+shield? I get that we can get +ES, however, I don't know how effective this will be on the slightly amended build I am using.

Kitoko's current
- This was a nice upgrade for survivability, however, I notice that enemies take much much less damage while stunned. Is there anything we can do to improve this / a spell we can cast to take advantage of this?

All input is welcome! I am a brand new POE player (only just arrived in POE2), so there may be some fundamental things I am missing :)

Hi did u use the kikoto glove for cast on shock

"

Ive been having a pretty good time with this build on T15 maps for the most part (I swapped in a Cast on Shock + Lightning Conduit setup with Ball Lightning for massive single target boss damage).

I've been meaning to try the lightning conduit+cast on shock+double shock application combo for massive boss dmg, but I need my 4th ascendancy (and the spirit on armor to use it)

Id really recommend it, even swapping what you have on 3rd ascendancy. Ball Lightning w/ scatter and unleash can apply shocks very quickly, and if you have specced into shock magnitude the resulting lightning conduit can chunk or even one shot map bosses.

"
"

I put in lightning warp with shock siphon and it really helps being able to have a straight AOE option in a pinch! I feel like there is a lot of potential in lightning warp now...

this is a smart idea. I've been wondering how to best use shock syphon, and was gonna put it in my orb of storms, but spark kills everything too fast for it. using lighting warps inherent culling strike to guarantee syphon procs is very smart.

Actually, the culling part is pretty unreliable. I tried running it with soul siphon (the mana recovery on cull) but it didnt really work. But the explosion from the warp has a surprising amount of damage! And the cast time is really short, so you can spam it if you have a chain of targets available for massive damage. If you kill an entire pack with the warp, you recover a lot of ES.

I was so surprised by how good it felt that I've been experimenting with using it and ball lightning as the main clear engine instead of spark, and it kinda works. It clears really, really quickly and when things go well you dont even have to wait around for ES to regen, since you can siphon from mobs. It does feel more rippy, but really only when you don't have any ball lightnings out to teleport to when things get dicey. Otherwise you can warp out and fallback to spark while moving backwards. You also have to be very careful about on-death effects since you are teleporting all over the place. If I could consistently keep at least one ball lightning out at all times, I think it would be insane....

No. That will have no effect.
For freeze buildup you can use winter gloves or freeze buildup from other sources

You also need some energy sources (near chaos inoculation) to build CoF proc faster

Heya, now that is super interesting to me!
Are you actually using both at the same time?
I would say that monsters do more damage than your mana can handle and your "life" is effectively 1 because of CI.
So you convert your ES to mana? EB and your HP becomes 1 and you get chaos immune
I would say its double edge sword, you get chaos immune but you lose a lot of life (but do you? numbers feel the similarly same, maybe something fishy is goin on). You need monstrous amount into ES to boost mana to insane levels
Plus u lose "second life flask" :P

With EB: ES: 4.2, Mana: 3.2, HP: 1.2
With CI: ES 8.5, Mana 2.0, HP: 0

I dont understand those numbers? is that 3200 mana? 3.2? Your Life is 1 with CI. Never 0.

I am playing EB my self. It feels sturdy.

2.Volatile Plants
I deal with them with frost wall its super effective for other issues as well. Even boss fights. It also attracts monsters and they attack the wall instead of you.All big groups , poison spitters , nasty stuff. Just frost wall and bang away

3. CoS/CoF
Still works more then fine with just tiny investment into energy nodes right next to chaos innoculation. It procs very often and damage is beautiful as you can also boost its damage in same node spot

4. Curses
I run curses. They cast super fast. And last damn long.
PoE 2 has weapon swap mechanics and weapon swap entire tree based on weapon active. 1/2
Basically you assign entire nodes to curses on tree on secondary weapon. Its entirely automated just disable curse /lightning ball on weapon 1 and enable on weapon 2. It automatically switches back and forth
Its super amazing

5.Staff v Wand/Shield
Yes DPS vise staff could be better. But shield provides ES, Mana regen , resist. Is +2 more really worth that much?

6.Kitoko's current
Dunno about those. I use helmet unique for freezing and winter gloves for freeze buildup.Kitoko in my build can work with helmet on curses/exposure
Also dont have Kitoko :)
Heavy frost ignores resist so i really like winter gloves atm.

P.S
Side note: I also play with a controller. There is waaaay to much keyboard buttons for me to handle on top of WASD. Controller actually makes it totally casual and easy
7 different Spells to cast while dancing around with WASD? ouch , Puts too much strain on me.
With gamepad i dance with analog and just easy click buttons.

Hey, thanks for your imput/observations! I've also moved to going MoM+EB+CI. I don't think I've died in like 20 maps. The only thing I can think of is you're not using MoM and so dmg isn't going to your mana at all. I've never once died on full mana. My stats are: ES: 4.3k Mana: 3.8k.
How are people like 3.5k+ mana?

I have damn near 120+ mana on every single piece and I'm at 2.1k. My items are also really good.

10.2k es though.

Here is my current tree using Kitoko. Would appreciate feedback.

That unique amulet with eb? everlasting gaze
Also, citing this tree:

End game cold: three dragons

This is where it's at - plenty of very cool nodes thar do things like ignore resists for frozen enemies while bringing them the pain. A fair few nodes are in there just to give ample frost buildup, so that we can hopefully maintain near permafreeze on many bosse

Why are we taking shock nodes if we no longer shock due to three dragons?

EDIT: nevermind, ascendency.

Currently using Kitoko's, haven't done third and fourth ascendancys yet. 1k health, 2.7k ES, 1.5K mana, 433 mana regen when standing still/not in orb of storms. Spark DPS with Archmage on is about 4.1k.

I don't feel like I have nowhere near enough mana regen to take MoM, every time I take it it feels like I'm constantly out of mana or dying very frequently. Doesn't feel like I have enough ES to take CI. And I haven't really experimented with EB but it doesn't feel like I have enough ES for that either/I'm not sure how it will help.

Clearing feels good with my current gear but I am struggling with survivability, I've cleared T1 through T10 maps but it feels like even rare mobs in T1 maps can sometimes wipe me.

is this a playstyle/skill issue or is there something else I could be doing? Does the unique amulet for mana regen give enough to let me go MoM? Should I be ascending?
I am now on t1-t2 maps and totally stuck - cant quickly kill white trash and die too fast. Can please anyone send skill and gem tree for white maps with Kitocos current, but without everlasting gaze?
