High CPU Usage and Low Performance in Path of Exile 2
Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with high CPU usage in Path of Exile 2. In new zones, my CPU usage goes above 90%, and the FPS drops significantly, especially during loading or when multiple objects appear on screen. This problem does not occur in other games or applications. My System Configuration: CPU: Intel Core i9-10900KF (10 cores, 20 threads, 3.7 GHz, up to 5.3 GHz in Boost) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING Z590-PLUS (BIOS updated to the latest version) RAM: 32 GB DDR4 Storage: NVMe SSD Operating System: Windows 11 Pro, version 22H2, build 22631 Steps Already Taken: System Testing: Stress tests (Cinebench R23) were performed, and the results were normal. The CPU does not overheat, and the cooling system is functioning properly. Driver Updates: GPU drivers are updated to the latest version. Chipset and Intel Management Engine Interface drivers are also updated. BIOS: Updated to the latest version from the ASUS website. CPU Monitoring: High CPU usage occurs only in Path of Exile 2 (not in other games or applications). Game Settings: Tried various graphics settings (DirectX and Vulkan), reduced texture quality, and disabled V-Sync. Limited threads using the --threads launch parameter. Windows Updates: All the latest updates for Windows 11 have been installed. Additional Notes: On forums, I found similar complaints suggesting a potential conflict between Path of Exile 2 and Windows 11 (22H2) on some Intel CPUs. This issue did not occur before the operating system was updated. Requested Assistance: Are there any known optimization issues between Path of Exile 2 and Windows 11 or Intel 10th Gen processors? Are there any specific settings or actions you recommend to resolve this issue? Will there be performance fixes in upcoming game updates? Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response. can u download latencymon and run it and record and post results after u experience the issue. also while ur at 90% cpu use and have frame drops, can u please post a screenshot of some performance metrics? such as cpu %, cpu temp, cpu time etc.. using an app like msi afterburner (preferably) or geforce experience (better off never using this) or hwmonitor (preferably) and also run a dxdiag

Same issue here, cpu shoots to 100% on loading zones, more often than not my entire PC freezes :( I'm running a 1080 and an i9-9900K

Same issue. 100% cpu usage on zone loading.
Most of the time pc freezes on act change. 9900k / rtx3090 win 11, lates drivers |

Same issue here. The CPU temperatures hit 95*C at times, making my fans quite loud. Also, Vulkan claims I'm running at 120 FPS, but it feels more like 15, with visual lag so bad that I die before I can see what hit me.

Where are the responses from GGG? We need a fix for this. This needs to be addressed immediately. The program needs to demand less of the the CPU under waypoint, portals, and loading. Fix it.
