High CPU Usage and Low Performance in Path of Exile 2

Just bought the game and I'm experiencing high CPU usage as well.

+ CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K (Frequent 100% across multiple cores)
+ GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 @ 1920x1080 no upscaling (40-60%)

Running the latest drivers available.
Hi there i may have found one issue for this.
I had my energysaving settings in windows changed, but there was a mistake:

CPU Mininum usage was on 100% instead of 1%
CPU Maximum also on 100% (which is correct)

That caused the Problem that my CPU had no space to operate on Gaming.

Maybe this will Help some ppl. because after chanign it to 1% my Game runs like a charm.

U can repost this on Reddit or whatever :)
No offence, but a CPU should be able to use 100%.
If your system somehow can't handle the temps, and/or crashes, you will have to look at your cooling solution.

bump
My case CPU go up to over 400ms just press Enter open chat and when new creep enter screen or I move to next screen it cause game to stuttering, unplayable.
Just throwing my hat in the ring:

I'm seeing this issue since the last patch. I had issues prior to Dawn of the Hunt and then everything was great after that until this last path. Now I get my processor shooting up to 100% usage for a second or two every time a new monster or map graphic has to load. It is virtually unplayable again.

Note I don't have this issue in any other game including D4 and POE1 on max settings. I'm running POE2 with medium to low low settings now (doesn't seem to really help though and previously I was running on highest settings).

PC Specs -
CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB
OS: Win 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.4061)
RAM: 2x 32GB G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Black DDR5 6800MHz CL34 6800 MHz (64gb total)
HD: Samsung SSD 990 Pro 2TB (nvme)
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WIFI II DDR5

Temps stay well within specs, I really don't think it is my setup.

I've tried Windowed mode and Full Screen, no help. DLSS and no DLSS. Vulkan seems to make everything 100x worse in every respect.

High CPU usage isn't the issue, it's the fact that the game basically stops working for a couple seconds whenever the CPU pegs out. The Shader graph almost always shoots to 100% at same time. So it appears the game is busy loading data and no other events for the game can fire until it is done.

Hi

Intel core i9 9900KF
Nvidia 2080 RTX
32 Go RAM
Game is on SSD

I have the same probleme as everyone here it seems, but a thing is really making me wonder.
I play with low settings, dlss on performance. Any battle and my CPU goes to 90 degrees and i massively drop fps WITHOUT my fans speeding up wich i dont understand.

Any other game i play my fans goes maximum speed and cpu doesnt go above 80 degrees.

How is it possible the fans seem affected by the game ? It doesnt make sense to me.
I hope GGG find a solution at some point.
Peace.

PS : I don't recall having such issues during the launch of the game, seems like a patch messed it up afterwards

Awesome!!

I have a Razen 5, 5600x, 16 GB 3200mhz ram, and a 9060 XT AMD brand new card.

My game was running on 165 fps to 20 fps. Worst for me was delirious maps with breech inside it. Don`t know how many times I have died because of lagging, so fucking annoying.

Tried a lot of stuff, Bios update, overclocking, undervolting, All settings on low, fSR performance mode and so on. It helped just a bit, but my game was also looking shit. Disabled cpu 1, drivers, All possible options in driver and game. A lot of windows options and so on. Nothing seems to really fix my CPU overload.

With the in game graph (F1) it was easy to see that it was my CPU bottleneck my game.

Today a new graphic card arrive, and I kept on trying things without really fixing the issue. The radeon super res was helping me but far from perfect.

And then I read this about the CPU in powersettings was 100%. Put it to 1% on minimum and now I never go under (everything on max) 60 FPS breech + delirious maps. So big thx for sharing that info mate :) !!!!

EDIT: After more testing The CPU bottleneck is still the problem. I see after 30 sec my computer have adjusted and basically never goes under 80-70 fps. Lvl tru act 1-3 fps is normally 120 -165 now. So the adjustment with powersettings have helped with stability and the FPS drop is not so significant than before.

To sum it up: Grinding Gear still need to fix this CPU issue. If not the CPU would bottleneck I would have 200FPS + all the time with everything on max 1920 x 1080.
