I am out. I want to like it so much - but it's just too hard to be fun.

I am out probably until full version comes out as well. Not even going to bother to look at all the small patches. I clocked 180h, did all endgame without farming the bugged Arbiter, some of my friends 40-300h. But there isn't much else to be done. Streamers will do streamer content, aka 'races', because they have time and that's their work.

But nobody else that is sane will do it. I am starting to wonder if buying early access was a good idea at all if the game will not change drastically.

But hey, RMTs are happy, so GGG is also happy, so China is happy because they can earn money on their scamming practices that are not prosecuted :)
The game isn't even hard. You either can see the boss animations and press dodge or you can't. I was running a fire pet build with some other spells and I physically couldn't see ANY of the bosses winding up. All my friends said the same thing, we just roll around casting our vulnerability spell inbetween minion spells or whatever left click attack/spell build they are doing.

That playstyle gets boring after less than one session. What am I supposed to do, play 250 more hours so I can get a weapon with +skills? Sit in trade channels for 6 hours trying to get an upgrade? It's BORING.

I had 1000x more fun messing around on Diablo 3 the past 3 months than playing this. That's right, a THIRTEEN year old game has better playability than a 2025 cashgrab devs divorce/mortgage game.

I think that's the worst part about PoE2. Not the poor gameplay, lack of creativity, or complete lack of interesting uniques... it's the fact you can literally feel a divorced dev paying for a mortgage while you play. (I never read replies)

This is not fair!

It's just an EA version of the game. You may not like it but to call it a "cash grab carpet pull game" is completely crazy. Pretty sure they had/have a vision that is just different from what a lot of players want but not every game has to be for everyone.

We've seen this same vision before, it was called Ruthless and the vast majority of the playerbase hated it.

Honestly the only thing they've gotten right in PoE2 is the change to the Gem Link system (though a limit of one support per character is questionable at best), and the boss fights.

Simply put, Wheres the Loot?

Even ruthless offers a better game expierence than POE2 ... challanges are meaningful in ruthless while in poe2 its tedious. The root problem are the main systems. Crafting is dull. I thought having exalted orbs as an exposable would benefit the game but i was horribly wrong. Its soo fukin bad.
I never asked for PoE 2

I assume you're talking about PoE 2?

Try PoE 1. It's superior in almost every way.

Just dropped in after two months quitting the PoE2 EA to see what is going on.

I spent hundereds of dollors on PoE1 and PoE2, trusting in GGG to know what they are doing. Played PoE1 from early on and enjoyed it for thausands of hours. Always coming back. Always spending a few bucks to support their work.

Yeah, PoE1 was also very difficult in the beginning, but it was still fun and engaging. It had the magic that makes you coming back for more.

I am not a hard core player. Don't have the time or the furstration tollerance. I just want to enjoy a game after work, hunting the carrot for a bit, fiddeling with my build. Relax.

PoE2 has nothing what made PoE1 enjoyable for me. The whole dark souls like stuff is not my cup of tee. But this seems to be the art direction of GGG for PoE2.

So there it is, I am out and not comming back for a long time, if ever.

The Steam Charts btw also tell an alarming story.

From well over 500k Steam players in December down to a mere 20k this Tuesday. Trend points downwards. Fast.
