The combat is so much better than POE1 and the items/loot/crafting will all be fixed, resulting in a better game. Additionally, I think a lot of new players aren't using the trade website. It's pretty much mandatory unless you really know what you're doing. I've played I think 5 characters through the campaign and all of them got enough exalted orbs to go snag 4-5 pieces of gear from the trade site. I agree with your sentiment on new player retention. If GGG intends to keep a substantial percentage of first time players, they'll need to find some way to communicate expectations and/or make some changes to the game design. Here's to hoping that's the direction they go in. Adding an in-game browser for the trade site would be huge. Or get this ... perhaps you can stop white knighting the game or or get this just perhaps the game is .... flawed.. like you know it isnt the players fault the game is broken. Like you know just perhaps .. it isnt the player.. like they can have a puppet in the GGG loby the devs can go to ... and it can tell them .... your end game is shit... or I know a speaker by the water cooler that says .... trials are cancer , trials are cancer... or wait I know ... a 20 foot sign outside that says .... loot drops in arpg's.... cause you know 80% of players gone and every streamer checked out..yeah game is in a great place. Honestly I have a feeling, that devs didnt play the game. The biggest fale of this game is that 1-3 fast low lvl white mobs can kill 90+ lvl mage, they just jump to mage and hit him, mage always stuck, cant run, cant cast, only die - there is no point in this, there is no game in this. No you're right. POE2 has a lot of things that need some attention! A lot of things suck about it and it's hard for me to believe GGG played it before releasing early access. I'm with the OP on this. I took a week off but now can hardly bring myself to log in. So many issues. But, I'll say that I got to end game and it turned me off. I really want to like it. I love the idea of running maps and "tuning" them. But, there are just not enough waystones. I can hardly play because there are no drop. And I have the passive that increases it by 30%. It's funny they released a stash tab for waystones because I would NEVER be able to fill it. The work to set up the maps was tedious but I might have been willing to continue if there was a way to do it. No waystones. They just don't let you play the game. The 1-shot kills by random enemies is also bad. It's like everything is programed wrong. Again, that does not matter because I can't advance any more. Oh well. I applaud the idea itself as I understand where you are coming from, but it's just extremely far off from reality. Going by the character sheet, the NPC would think my current character is complete trash. Tooltip is completely wrong in every single aspect. "Oh, your resistances seem a bit low." -> Runs around with 90% max res. "Oh, your DPS seems a bit low." -> Stacks up to 10 times and doesn't account for buffs and effective damage taken and debuffs. "Oh, your defenses seem a bit low." -> Gains 5 Endurance Charges, uses Cloak of Flame and Immortal Call. I can straight up facetank like half of the entire endgame and yet, based on the character sheet, that NPC would think my character is a leaf in the wind. Die in 2 weeks? Its over 100k 2 months into an EA and the playerbase has been around for over 10 years lol Its no one's fault here that you suck at the game and have no skill at all. I suggest sticking to my little pony, since stuff like this is too hard for you. Don't feel bad though, a lot of people suck at video games like you do.
