[POE2] Game crash when changing zones

Started occurring with me too now.

Was stable since launch, but today it started crashing between zones.
Makes the game quite unplayable.

7800x3d
4080 super.

my feedback:
I have a 9800x3d and this crashes only started yesterday after the 24h2 windows 11 update, I've been playing since launch with 22h2 version without problems, not a single crash until the 24h2 update.

This bug or waht is it is insane almost evry portal map or when i jump in game freez the game 7800 3 d with 4090 rtx . im so sad since this update crashes are too ofern.

I'm having the same issue with my PC completely locking up when changing zones occasionally. Requires a power button reset. Cannot connect to machine via RDP or TeamViewer. No issues at all on other games.

i7-11700k
64gb DDR4 RAM
RTX4090
Game is installed on a gen 4 PCIE NVME drive.
Win 11 Pro 24H2 update. I'm going to try rolling back to 24H1 if I can.

Hello, I have the same issue of crashing when entering zones and yes my PC completely freezes and I have to shut it down and turn it back on.

Thanks to your first comment saying that the CPU spikes when this happen I have an idea of how to fix it.

I will reply again if this works so you can do it, but I will give it a short summary of what I have in mind:

For newer CPUS like Ryzen and Intel, they tend to overclock thenmselves to crazy points. Ryzen can run nicely below 60 degrees, but thanks to this overclocking features this cpus often reach 85-95 degrees and they give just a little improvement.

Since you mentioned the CPU usage is spiking and all that, I plan to edit the power plan settings on windows to make the CPU Only reach 99% of its "capacity", this is a cheap fix, it will avoid the cpu entering this ultra boost mode so it will most likely stay on low temperatures and it may fix the computer fully crashing.

Again, I will update if this works for me. Hope it does!

I have the same problem and have to force a shutdown for my PC to work.

I hate these kinds of bugs and if it persists I'll quit the game. Please fix it ASAP!

Same for me,... upgraded to 24h2, but i also had crashes with 23h2, since the last patch the game became unplayable,... every second map change my entire system freezes...

i tried a few things, without any impact:

- lowering graphic settings
- reinstall windows
- updating BIOS
- switching from NVIDIA DLSS to NIS (Default)
- window mode, full screen, maxed window mode
- downgrading graphics driver (to earlier version)
- using studio driver
- starting game in admin mode
- adding poe2 to gaming mode
- reinstall poe2
- verifying installed files
- reinstall steam

AND

- pray to "Deus Mechanicus"

all without any impact...

I just built a brand new computer basically BECAUSE I was having issues with my old one, and now I have this completely different problem.

same as everyone here, x3d processor,
and I crash when I see a load screen 9/10 times. I've tried all 3 renderers, nothing seems to help.

Same issue here. Crashes on most zone changes.
