Kinda sad what other people here are saying about POE 2
" Can someone please explain to me what exactly you mean by the word "difficulty"??? What is difficult here? Is it the fact that now you have to stand in one spot, clicking a white mob with a single button for five minutes? TTK has been cranked up to an absurd level. Or is it that you need to dodge boss attacks in time? Weren’t you already dodging AoE attacks from bosses with a flame dash before? It’s always been like that in PoE—constantly dodging whatever comes your way. Or is the "difficulty" that you’re stuck wearing the same gear for dozens of hours? None of this is about difficulty; the game has simply been slowed down, making it feel TEDIOUS! |

" I have to ask, why are you defending it? Are you afraid that other people not enjoying it in the way that you do will take away your enjoyment of it? Is them not being satisfied with the product against some unspoken rule? Is there a reason so many people here champion getting less of everything like they are some sort of monks in training, trying to adhere to a vow of poverty? If PoE 2 has been great for you, no notes, brother, get off the forums and go play the game. Antagonizing people trying to give feedback in a feedback thread because it conflicts with your 'enjoyment' of a product seems like a sign of mental illness. ~ I am Wreaclast middle class and proud of it!

" It's clear you're taking what I'm saying out of context because you're ignoring that it's a response to a far more ignorant post. Have yourself a day. I got the sauce. POE2 enjoyer. Last edited by Holigawd#2935 on Dec 10, 2024, 11:34:58 AM

I'm having a great time with the game. The ARPG genre comes with a difficulty slider built in. If something is too easy, you push to harder zones earlier, if something is too hard, you farm for mere minutes and get overleveled and overgeared.
I don't want the game made easier from a raw numbers and interactive standpoint, that would worsen my game experience and decrease the longevity of the game for me. I think a good solution to people complaining about the difficulty is likely explaining the player power mechanics and ways of power creeping earlier. I think a crafting quest would be helpful. But the game is well tuned across all characters from my experience at least through the campaign, and I have never taken more than 3 times to kill a boss or area - with the vast majority of each area or boss taking 1 try. I think that's because I bought a good weapon from the vendor at the start of each act, dumped my crafting materials into it so it was overtuned, and then used that all the way through the act, rinsing and repeating at the start of each new act. Doing that made every fight feel good or easy, save for a couple awesome fights like the

I hope GGG doesn't lose sight of the vision of actually engaging combat that is challenging and solvable via character power progression and skill. |

Most poeple whining about increased difficulty discovered PoE later; once there were bazilions ways to get big loot early.
Game just released and kids wants theire super duper coocky cuter build NOW well toutch and smoke some grass and work for it kids : game is brand new ! PoE used to be pretty PRETTY blunt to. EDIT : I'm having a blast right now while the game is new, hard and not yet spoiled all over the web. Last edited by V1ND1C4R#4049 on Dec 10, 2024, 2:56:12 PM

" I am not taking anything out of context and from where I am observing you are really not fit to judge who is ignorant or not. The simple fact of the matter is that you folded like wet tissue paper under the lightest scrutiny of your absurd ideas. Go touch grass, or keep playing the game, I don't really care, just stop pretending you are some kind of authority on anything. p.s. In all seriousness, if you find you have tied so much of your identity to this product that you feel the need to defend it on the internet against random strangers because they do not demonstrate the same level of zeal towards it, you need help. Professional help. That is simply not healthy. ~ I am Wreaclast middle class and proud of it! ~ Poor investment =/= entitlement to compensation. ~ Build smart, build S-mart! Haven't had a chance to play that much because of work but the difficulty seems fine to me.
I get the impression, Steam forums as well, that players are trying to go too fast and are under levelled or a bit under geared, I beat the witch and the Mud Burrow guy first attempt, yes i know so what, my point being I've seen a lot of complaints about players getting stuck there. The game has only been out a few days and I've seen what, 3 or 4 patches, dev is doing a great job imo. Loot drops can be tweaked, "OP" builds will get some balancing I'm pretty sure. It's EA for a few days, calm down. |

I think the game is fantastic as it is. Needs some tweaking and fine tuning, which they will do over time, I'm sure.
My only major complaint is the trials of Ascendancy (honor system, coin access, chaos trial ridiculous negative buff stacking etc). Last edited by leopard2lx#3801 on Dec 10, 2024, 6:40:06 PM

" Poe1 fried everyone's brain, they don't even know how to enjoy a simple videogame anymore. Oh boy I gotta speedrun to the end (even though I have no idea how because the game is new) and skip all of the content in the game, basically one big gigantic new league, so I can perma-map and drone-farm divines or something... because that's apparently all I know how to do anymore. It's really unfortunate they had to call this poe2. If they called it anything else, few people would be acting like this. |
