Kinda sad what other people here are saying about POE 2
I think this is a huge point. Being boring even to watch the gameplay on stream, is quite telling by itself.

im loving poe2 at the moment, but, i can already see almost mid way into act 2 im not going to be back more than once a year with leagues if this is the pace of endgame. Feels more like a beat it once and never return type of thing much like the majority treat souls likes. Im fine without loot explosions since now the gear will have actual value more often.
One of my biggest pet pieves at the moment is the support gem limitation is lame unless you play a gemling from my understanding. the limit should change per type for example CoC, minion army, CWC, or if you simply have 3 main spells on 1 weapon. for instance, minions can have x2 of the same support (not on same skill), can have 2 cast ons instead of 1. Freedom of choice feels like it got tossed out the window because we quickly end up using all the supports anyways that are semi useful and becomes more of a childs puzzle box the one where you slot the triangle into the triangle hole. Dodge rolling needs phasing all to often you can quickly get locked into a corner let alone bullied in towns in corners where players can block you. again this is just me almost half way into act 2 having a smooth experience and enjoying myself. If end game is more of this i worry about after act 6 is out once people "beat" the end boss even if theres 7-10 acts i dont think the majority who are softcore will want to slog through a slow campagin to get to the new stuff even if its on a new class. I would equate it to elden ring which is what this feels like, people will play the crap out of it then not be back for a year or so just like elden ring dlc, and even then everyone chose the path of least resistence to just get to the dlc asap. Yes this is EA i know, which is why im explaining my point of view so far so devs can ignore or use it to gauge community sentiment about the future direction of the game Last edited by beezlbub#1660 on Dec 7, 2024, 10:55:36 AM

Everything in this game is great, beautiful, 10/10 aside from the actual gameplay, lol. This constant butt clenching combat gives me a headache, it's like being in a WoW PuG with an under-geared half-afk group, wiping on trash mobs, trying to heal the tank who's not even def capped kind of vibe. And you won't win /roll on any loot. Tiring, kinda frustrating.
I also chose minions as my first build and omg on boss fights they die right after re-spawning, lol. Not the best first impression game-play wise. |

I have cleared all the content POE 1 has to offer and yet I still think the fights are tuned incredibly bad. To do one attack with a monk I have to receive chip damage from boss adds.

" I agree. The mandatory dodge rolling is what makes it the most annoying to me. I imagine it's far better to play WASD or use a controller than standard keyboard and mouse. |

Probably a dumb question (and a bit rhetoric)… thats the first days of a beta version? I mean, everybody who is frustated should calm down. They wont release the game(in around a year?^^) with the exact same game they released the beta yesterday… other games you pay 100€ and they are also in a beta but they tell you the game is ready to play^^

I love the difficulty difference between PoE1 and PoE2. PoE2's difficulty seems to be in a really good spot right now imo. I'm kind of liking PoE2 over PoE1 so far.

" ^ So much THIS! This was exactly what I was thinking too. Ruthless sounded great but it turned out that apart from 2-3 guys worldwide no one ever plays it. Catering to Don Tryhard and friends is maybe only the second best option, right? German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

I shouldn't be so surprised by how many petulant ragebaby morons there seem to be wailing about how the game is "bad" because the challenging fights took them multiple attempts to overcome, and they're not having fun because that amount of effort is too much for them to manage and eliminates their ability to enjoy the game.
Pssst... it's day 1 of early access and the current experience is probably going to be miles separated from whatever state the campaign and overall balance will be in proper full release. Calm down and remember it's day 1 of early acccess, before throwing a fit about "wasting your money" on an EA key or supporter pack. Hell, if the current experience is too raw and rough for your liking, toss PoE2 on the back-burner for a month or two, wait for a few rounds of balance patches and give the community a chance to figure out what's what and release some solid build guides that'll be cruise-control for clearing all campaign content. I should've expected this reaction, but for some reason I had a brief bout of optimistic naivete thinking hardly anyone would be throwing childish fits and forum-post rage outbursts because they're not having fun on day1 of an early access release that was promised to be very rough around the edges. Likening this game to PoE 1 Ruthless is a 10 IQ take.
The main take away from reading all these stupid threads is that people don't like the dodge, the bosses are too hard for them and they aren't getting enough loot. YET NONE OF THEM ARE EVEN LEVEL 20 OR MORE THAN 12 HOURS PLAYED. Humanity is the ridiculous sum of its parts and I hate you all for being so disappointing to be around intellectually.
