PoE 2 - I hate trial of the sekhemeas so much

Both trials are cancer. They simply need to remove ascendancies from the trials and keep them as optional gameplay modes with loot for people who enjoy them. Forcing everyone to do them to get the ascendancies is only going to hemorrhage players and reduce the player base.
In my opinion the worst thing about POE2. If there is no change in future coming, unfortunately also a reason not to continue playing it.
This is so sad, because i like POE2 very much.
Just tried to get my third (let alone my fourth) ascendency on a warrior. I knew that the trial of the Sekhemas is WILDLY biased against melee classes, so I decided to play it safe and overlevel the trial by 12 levels before even attempting it. And not just overleveled, but quite well geared, having just spent about 40 exalts buying gear upgrades for every slot. Only have the 1 trial key, because their drops are so damned rare, so I'm not taking any chances.

First floor is easy enough, but after the first floor, I started getting random afflictions in every room. The very first one I get is "lose 94 honor after every single room"... With about 20 rooms to go, that one affliction costs about 2/3 of my honor. I struggle through, hoping that there will be some way to remove it, and taking every opportunity to get honor refills when available. Then I'm horrified to find that the second floor bosses do massive AOEs. Easily survivable for my tanky build, but still do MASSIVE honor damage. Then I get to the third floor, all my afflictions still in place, and slowly bleed out honor until my run is ended.

Now my level 60 trial key is spent, and along with it all of my enthusiasm for this game.

Maybe I'll pick it up again if and when these devs, whose choices I've generally respected over the last 12 years, admit to the mystifyingly stupid choice they've made here. I mean, gating a core aspect of character progression behind the most punishing, random, unpopular, and unbalanced game mechanic they've ever introduced is bad enough. But to then also make every single attempt at it require a rare drop is just... I honestly just want to know what the hell they were thinking.

Yup they are garbage.

Issue is, it because it not your character anymore.
By the time you start the trials it being morphed into some jank version of your build.

Missing resists move speed or other core resists.
The mobs are scaling way out of an expected range.

But the hate comes from ..
Its not my character im playing.
I don't see Honor speced in the skill tree.
Inserting item drops just to support this terrible mode.... MOAR TERRIBLE

I never post here, but just shiming in to say that this honor mechanic is one of the worst I've seen in any video game.

Just remove it. It's bad, unfun, unbalanced, dumb.

Yeah, never post either but they need to know when they've made a shit mechanic. This trial is pure unfun bullshit mechanics stacked on top of each other adnauseam. The rest of this game is great, but whatever design team was behind this is probably due for a shake-up.
Untie ascending from the trials and make them optional for players that want to do them.

I still have to do my fourth ascension, but just the thought of doing 4 floors of sanctum just to reach the final boss and fail like I did today, makes me want to drop this game. Just like I stopped after that, it completely kills any motivation to play the game. Is this what GGG wants?

You have to have good rng and even than it takes so long to get there. You need to complete 4 floors and 3 bosses to get to the final boss and when you fail, all that invested time is lost.

Ultimatum is not better, you have to do at least 3 * 10 round ultimatums and pray you don't get duplicate idols to enter the final boss room. If you get a duplicate, you have to do another 10 rounds untill you have all 3 idols.

Such a horrible game design and disrespectful of the players time. It is an insult to push this on the player.

Just these forced trials ruin an otherwise great game.

I hope GGG will make them optional or else I think they're going to lose a lot of players.
Imagine someone thinking those trials were a good idea to get implemented into this game, and even worse is that someone decided to APPROVE that idea, which shows me how bad they are at game design, to keep ascendancy gatekept behind impossible and random mixed debuffs with one shot kill enemies.
Worst Ascension "quest" in ARPG history.
The third one is not to bad. I was raging pretty hard when i tried it 2 weeks ago, but it's really fine if you get some honor res/max honor relics and if you overlevel. In retrospective my build just sucked and i almost made it anyway. Today i walked through the third trial with my 2nd char with 10k honor and the only thing i had to pay attention to was not to get a random affliction.

Make sure you save or farm a token that has area lvl 60ish, because if you are in maps and you already struggle and you then try a token that has an area level that is high it will feel as bad as the feedback sounds here, but the workaround is just to do a lvl 60 one with lvl 80 if you don't like sanctum and don't want to be under constant pressure.
