Massive Latency Spikes

That's 100% exactly what happened to me too Jksummerjkl#4725!
Started happening to me about 2 days ago. It is so close to unplayable. I'm U.S East coast. I have 4080 and 7800x3d. I dont lag in any other game like this, including poe1.
Same on every EU Server. I was hoping they fix that with poe2. So sad, even in EA.
Changing crossplay_disabled from crossplay_disabled=False -> crossplay_disabled=True fixed mine so far. Been like an hour with no lag

There are a lot of different fixes for the latency issue going around that seem to work for some and do not work for others. I was stuck bouncing between 30ms-400kms every night since the launch of 0.1.0d, so I tried many of the fixes and nothing seemed to work (e.g. deleting cache, flushing dns, using vpn, predictive network, etc.) What did ultimately work for me was turning off crossplay in the config.ini file. I have had stable latency since doing this for whatever reason. Not saying this will work for everyone and definitely will not work for console, but it made all the difference for my PC experience.

For those who want to try your luck and do not know how to access this:

Navigate to [local drive]\users\[account name]\documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2\poe2_production_config.ini

Look for crossplay_disabled=false under the [General] section of the document and change it to crossplay_disabled=true then save the file.

Hopefully this helps someone out of the latency hole as it did for me while we wait for an actually fix to come downstream.

So far this has worked for me. Been like an hour without the ping spikes
I kept track of the bad servers I got tonight. It is not necessarily related to twelve99 in Amsterdam. But it is definitely related to the server route. I was hopping between two areas, and moving from no spikes to large spikes.

GGG should not ignore this, as there is probably something they can do to mitigate bad routes. Maybe give us the option to replicate our current map on a new instance?

In case anyone needs this:

I had all the same issues as above and it is due to the Windows 24H2 Update.

Rollback to your previous Windows Version and it's all fine.

With Windows 24H2:

Without Windows 24H2:

Apparently the new Windows Update screws up the CPU Scheduler and will decrease your overall performance of your PC.

Same goes for Sound. With the new Update I had horrible In-Game Sound, after Rollback, it's great again.

Hope it helped!

Cheers

Sounds like you had a different issue than what we are experiencing. Source: I never update windows. Says im on 22H2 from last year.

Plus our latency graph isnt constant spikes, it will look like the bottom one with only one, maybe two spikes in it.
Same issue here. The game stutters so much that it's difficult to play. This happened a few days ago after one of the patches; was super smooth for me on launch and for several days before this patch (I forget which one).
