Game does not log in to the correct Gateway/Server

Still an issue - getting routed to Texas US instead of Frankfurt/Milan EU

I'm in Japan and every time i select a gateway it puts me on California, i can't beat the first act boss because the lag is too choppy. I looked it up and found this thread, insanity!

Alright, my case wasn't really a bug, and I hope this helps someone down the line..

When ever you log in, it saves your last open instance/gateway, so what you can do to jump to the proper gateway is create a new instance. (it doesnt matter how many times you change gateways, etc...) if you started a map/instance on a specific gateway you'll always be there until you refresh the instance, which means losing progress for checkpoints if you are at a boss fight and it's lagging due to wrong gateway for example =(.

To fix it

1. go back to town. if you aren't already there it should show your proper gateway if you selected it at log in.

2. don't go back through your town portal, make sure you control click on the waypoint in the map and select create a new instance.

That should stick you in your proper gateway.

I can log into the AKL realm and sit on around 50ms ping which im happy with as I live rural NZ.
Altho when i load into a map or teleport im usually thrown into the AUS realm and my ping sits around 200ms (quite noticeable input lag).

If i teleport home and CTRL click on a map icon to make a new instance I can sometimes load into a AKL realm and my ping is back to 50ms again.

The game wont stay on the first selected realm upon login which is annoying.

Please fix this GGG.

Same issue, in Australia and the australia servers suck bigly. I want to connect to Aotearoa gateway but it keeps opening maps in aus realm and I usually die to lockstep speedup at some point. Seems somewhat random whether it will open aus or NZ. This is immensely frustrating.

Though tbh fixing the aus servers would fix the issue

So, trying the control click on the waypoint is not working to fix this for me. My gateway keeps showing as California and about 40mb/sec but whenever i go anywhere, its 160 mb/sec. terrible. I think GGG has set this up so it takes you wherever the heck they want to send you. Its awful.
