Game does not log in to the correct Gateway/Server

Hi I've noticed that the game ignores whatever Gateway i select on the login screen and just logs in to Frankfurt(EU).
I am from South Africa and play on the Steam Client. It does not log me into the South African server when i select it. Other people might not have noticed this as yet. The Login Screen with South Africa selected:  In-game with ping and Frankfurt(EU) showing:  I've tried with auto-selected and manual selecting gateway on login screen, it always puts me in Frankfurt. OH MY GOD!
Your post inspired me to check and it seems to be routing me through the JAPAN server even though I'm in the US. I was wondering why I was lagging so hard and couldn't move more than 30 steps without lagging out hard. How can we speed up them noticing this? |

We just hope more people see this post and reply to bump it i guess. I suspect this is going unnoticed by a lot of people because it's not very obvious until you check.

Same issue here. I select South Africa but I get put into either Paris or Frankfurt. With there being no option for predictive mode, the game is completely unplayable in South Africa. 180ms on lockstep is awful.

Worked fine last night, this morning i have been getting the same issue. PoE1's South Africa servers work fine. No idea why PoE2 has this issue

Having the same issue here also, all was good last night but this morning ping in-game almost 200ms even though i select south Africa on login Screen, once inside it puts me in Frankfurt (EU) Realm.

I'm also having the same issue, also from South Africa. Maybe it's something with the South Africa realm for POE2?
I tried messing with the gateways and now I'm always on Australia (280ms!) and I'm trying to get back to Frankfurt/Paris realm as it's much better haha But with the way the game plays, anything more than 60ms feels terrible anyway |

Experiencing the same. Server list indicates South Africa with 5ms latency then get routed to EU post login.
