POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" I haven't crashed on a load screen with PoeUncrasher. However, I will get a similar hard lock randomly while in game. Could be mid combat, in town, etc, with PoeUncrasher running. Not sure which is worse. Last edited by Regnal#4447 on Jan 3, 2025, 8:11:41 AM

" Yeah, to be honest atm im hoping more for a PoeUncrasher update, than a proper GGG fix for the actual game. I bet the uncrasher will come faster.. just hope it works. But the fun thing is that shouldn't be the players doing the job to fix it... this is so crazy XD Seeing people building entire new rigs, reinstalling windows, buying other accounts.. just to play the game, and even then some still crashing, makes think if i really have what is needed to play the game.. Am i not doing enough?? should i dive and reconfigure my entire system and how it works my cpu cores just to play the game? dang Last edited by drx#8804 on Jan 3, 2025, 8:16:47 AM

I have had similar crashes with Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2, both on a desktop computer and a laptop.
The game completely freezes the computer, after which the machine has to be forced to shut down. Yesterday, when I tried the game on the laptop and it crashed, after a hard boot the screen started flickering a lot, and I had to do another restart. Now, there are strange marks in a couple of places at the bottom of the screen, which might indicate that the GPU could have been damaged because of this. It's advisable to be cautious about this matter because it now appears that hardware damage occurred to the laptop. |

" 1. No you don't. It's major issue related to several system levels, both user mode and kernel mode because your OS struggling to process interrupts, including critical ones like the System Timer not allowing to execute sheduler and switch the tasks / contexts 2. GGG is aware of the problem and already made statement 3. GGG stuff is on vacation and they warned everyone. 4. The reason why it is happened and why they left the user base one-on-one with such serious issue right after release is in postponing the EA deadline by three weeks. I can't tell you more because it will break the ToS, but if you're interested I can provide some interesting information in PM. 5. If you're unlucky I recommend you to refrain from playing PoE instead of rap... well, they don't like that word... instead of turning everything upside down in your system. Just be patient, play other games or spend your time differently. 6. Make sure your system is actually stable and is not overheating at 100% CPU / GPU load. Use stress tests like OCCTPT, Cinebench, PRIME95, especially FPU stress (like built-in AIDA64 FPU stress) to ensure your cooling system (and UEFI profile) meets the requirement from your CPU manufacturer. Same goes to your power supply. Your PSU and the CPU / GPU power lines parameters must be in the operating limits defined in the official datasheet of your device at maximum load. It won't fix the crash but you will be ~100% (or maybe 99%) sure your hardware is stable at max load. Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Jan 3, 2025, 8:47:45 AM

Adding my voice to this thread just to confirm another affected user.
I will send my dxdiag along and hope the fix isn't massively time consuming for the dev team. I'm sure they'd much rather work on the fun the stuff than this. GGG fighting! |

You all do know you can fix this by rollback to 23H2 if your 24H2 update was less than 10 days ago?

" You are incorrect. A CPU is considered to be at its "unstable load" when it is operating at or near 100% utilization across any of its cores. This means all available resources are being used to execute tasks for any individual core. While this can indicate maximum performance as well, sustained 100% load of one core over time can cause applications to crash. PoE2: A good, giving game

" this seems to fix for some folks.. but what about my case, im on win 10 22H2. I guess maybe some win version can handle better this crash than others, but def there's more to the crash than just windows version/updates. I played for 200h without problems, from 6th december to 26th december on this same win 10 version witout updating nothing besides nvidia.. It just started crashing randomly on endgame. It seems to be waaay less common in campaign not sure why. Last edited by drx#8804 on Jan 3, 2025, 9:09:41 AM

" Have you tried to rolled back for nvidia? Uninstall the latest drive and download the previous drive you remember that didn't crash for you. |
|
" 1. It is requirements from the manufacturer to provide the conditions defined in the official documents. I was talking about temperature and power limits VERY clearly. 2. Applications don't crash just because of no free CPU cycles remaining. It's bugs / design flaws. Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Jan 3, 2025, 9:57:40 AM
