Hard crashing PC locks up
This crash was first reported on 6th of December, 2024.
Today is 18th of January, 2025. Forget the promise of progress and communication, for in the grim dark future there is only crashes. There is no fix amongst the patches, only an eternity of nerfs and neglect, and the laughter of GGG. Furthermore, I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others be aware of the issue and so that we can fight against misinformation. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

Unable to play without freezing/locking up/restarting my PC.
PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fyvq3w CPU: 9800x3D Windows 11 Home 24H2 OS Build: 26100.2605 I keep getting hard lock ups/freezing/restarting of my entire PC. This is the only games that does this with my PC. It is not an overheating issue or anything. There is a huge poe forum about this issue as well: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3594126 edit: 1/16/2025 Now able to play with the latest update 0.1.1 Windows 11 24H2 OS Build: 26100.2894 AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D 64gb of RAM DDR5-6000 Nvidia 4090 obviously using a m.2 ssd I have been using the Dec 5 nvidia driver version 556.36 My motherboard is the MSI x870 tomohawk and it is on the latest BIOs update. edit: After playing for a total of 4 hours of gameplay... my game crashed while loading a new map and made my computer blue screen. I guess its not fixed... |

" I already told many many times. This is probably 63875th. I cannot reproduce the freeze on my systems. Tested on four Linux distros: my working Arch Linux, gaming Nobara, Mint and Ubuntu. Also tested on Windows 10 22H2. On three different machines including laptop. Not going to install Windows 11 because it's complete garbage suitable only for the office, not for the gaming. This is the reason I'm just asking to make a photo of the screen by the users that already experiencing this issue several times per day. They only have to run the game in windowed mode, make Process Hacker / System Informer on top of the poe (View -> Always on top), switch to PoE 2 threads tab where we can see their priorities and CPU utilization, then switch to PoE 2 and spam with loading screen until the freeze occurs. After that make a photo using their mobile phone so we can read the text from the screen and post it here. Is it difficult? Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Jan 18, 2025, 11:03:34 AM

Waiting for a fix as well, haven't been playing since December 19th'ish, and i do really want to play, so that sucks. :/
Anyhow, i don't understand why this forum is so hostile, its early access/beta, and they have acknowledged the issue, and stated that they are working on it. |

" In case for anyone who have missed it and wondering why people who are experiencing this issue are disillusioned: 1) GGG have tried to shift the blame to Windows 11 24H2. This was the start of the bad blood because at that point everyone knew that this issue was prevalent across all OS. 2) GGG did not check dxdiags they were sent to, in cases such as mine we couldn't even send a DM to GGG because apparently those who did not finish ACT 1 or reach level 25 cannot send DMs. Who can reach those while hard crashing? Reckless ones who got lucky. 3) GGG did not acknowledge the issue during the three hour stream. Instead they mentioned a single crash to desktop and tried to pass as if that was the only crash. This was the point where everyone felt abandoned. 4) Streamers who have been talking about being on customer's side etc. and have been vocal about far minor issues are completely silent when it comes to this hard crash. This unnatural silence makes people think that GGG knew about the issue and ensured their silence. 5) GGG have still not put up a warning on Steam or here about how hard crashes are harmful to your PC. 6) GGG is still not explaining what went wrong. 7) GGG still is not communicating with its customers. They should have pinned these two threads to the top and put a support member just for this issue where they answer and keep on communicating with the customers. That's why, once again I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others will be made aware of the issue. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. " LOL, i already did this in December, i sat with process monitor and hwinfo running. the pc just freezes, sometimes you keep audio, the mouse goes glitchy (moves in extereme slow motion) and the rest of the screens are locked still. only way to escape (have waited 15mins) is forced power down there are no logs. it doesnt get to make any, it just freezes, my cpu is at 65c when it happens, and prime95 cant make mine go over 75c in a turture test so if poe2 can overheat my cpu thats soem special shit, am on x570 aorus elite wifi, 5800x 2070 Super. |

" No, because when i roll back to 23h2 i can play, its only on 24h2 for me, GGG are trying, no one forced you to keep risking your HW with crashes. shit happens. this is a tough one to trace if it is just poe2 (not convinced it is) because no error logs are produced from a system hardlock of this type. its hard to reproduce and its hard to trace the cause without a log. for me personally, it seems to happen only when doing something in a browser like youtube or twitch, (and lets be real, thats the normal gaming state for most ppl today) close that and its really rare to crash. if i had to guess there is some memory violations occuring cause it to lock. but you know, instead of grabbing your pitchfork and making demands of others to do the same, just describe as best you can what happens, then play something else or go touch grass you entitled ass and have patience, debugging with no error log is difficult af. |
