Hard crashing PC locks up

I've tried every fix suggested and every other possible thing I could think of, still randomly crash.. Sometimes twice in 30 minutes, sometimes I'll get a 4 our session with no issue, but eventually always comes back. Please fix.. worried it's going to break my pc, but also, I CAN"T STOP PLAYING

YUP, exactly my experience.
GGG please communicate with us where you are at with this issue.

I've been running the game pretty smoothly now doing this:

(For 16 Core AMD CPUs Only)

1. Create a desktop shortcut: (right-click anywhere on your desktop, click New -> Create Shortcut.)

2. In the "type the location of your item" box, copy-n-paste this whole thing with the quotes included: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start "PathOfExileSteam" /affinity 5554 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\PathOfExileSteam.exe"

^double check that your POE2.exe is in the same directory as mine. If not, change that directory location inside the quotes to match yours.

3. On the next tab you can "name" the shortcut whatever you want. Then click Finish.

4. Close Steam if it's open. It's important that you always run the shortcut launcher with Steam completely closed first.

5. Double-click the shortcut to automatically launch Steam and the game.

6. If you get to the login screen without issue, don't login yet. Open the options menu first and make sure you have VULKAN enabled, if it's not already. Do not use Direct X 11 or Direct X 12.

7. You might have a brief freeze while it downloads all the Vulkan Shaders.

8. Login to the game and play.
Windows 11 23H2 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD

I added a new build to PoE Uncrasher that should avoid false positives from virus scanners, but it requires .NET 9 to be installed on your computer. I don't remember if this is something that tends to be installed by default nowadays. But if you have issues with it getting flagged as a virus, that can be used instead.

As a reminder, if you run this tool it should prevent freezes from locking up your computer. If you run the tool as an administrator (rightclick -> Run as Administrator), it should automatically recover PoE when it freezes.

Thanks for the work.
Can the app remember my last choice of the parked cores?

Since I want to use this command in steam to make it start with the game so, no need to open it manually and enter the number of the parking cores every time.

cmd /c start "PoEUncrasher" "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\PoEUncrasher\PoEUncrasher.exe" && %command%

We are now closing in on our 2-week crashversary !! 12 more hours woohooooo
I'm not getting full pc crashes anymore but am getting loads of crashes to desktop. Feels really good when my nearly 10 year old 1080 laptop is more stable than my brand new i7-14700kf 4080 desktop which crashes every 2 minutes regardless of dx11, dx12 and vulkan.

Pretty over it if I'm honest.

PoE showed as PoE1 instead of PoE2 in the NVidia app.
Do whatever it takes to make it show correctly in the NVidia app and you will not have any crashes anymore. Tested it myself, no crash anymore.

Here's some suggested ways to make it show correctly in the NVidia app:
1. Uninstall POE2 and if you have it POE1 as well.
2. Important... delete both POE1 and 2 folders from your Documents/ My Games folder.
3. Do a search on your drive(s) for anything "Path of Exile", highlight all results and delete the files and folders then do the same search for "Grinding Gears" just in case there's any remnants that may be there. Then, empty your recycle bin!
4. Clean your shader cache... empty that sucker.
5. Rerun a scan in Nvidia App and make certain Path of exile is gone from your installed games.
6. Restart windows.
7. Do a fresh install of POE2 only (don't install POE1)

Or

1. Try reinstalling the NVidia app
2. Start the game from the NVidia app

This might have done it for me. Initially when I tried this I did not uninstall the nvidia app. it was still saying POE1. I removed the nvidia app and cleared my appdata of anything that said nvidia. I didnt even restart and just reinstalled. I refreshed the nvidia app and it now says POE2. I have been running fine for a couple hours now so maybe this is a fix for me at least. I will update if the crashes come back. Also I have noticed the CPU usage overall is more smooth. It still does some spiking on load screens, but very quickly comes back down.

ok after several hours the crashes came back. But hey at least the nvidia app says POE2 now lmao. This did at least make cpu usage more even outside of the crashes. I have now started using https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher/releases/tag/v1.2.0
and this has so far worked. Wild to watch this thing unfreeze my system in realtime. You are the goat. How is it that you can resolve something that GGG cannot?
i have tried all the workarounds, uncrasher, processlasso, manually setting cpu affinity, fiddling around with all the settings. nothing helped. I have bought new hardware for the game (ryzen 5 7600x, rtx 4060, 32 gb ram) and im not willing to fry my stuff, since its hardfreezing my system every 30 minutes... Issues only startet on the 1.0.d patch and when i updated to 24h2 but i cant go back without major hassle.

very frustrating.

please fix !!

make sure you all go and give the game a negative steam review because they obviously are not giving this enough attention.
