Hard crashing PC locks up
anyone still having the same problem until now?

Yes, still the same problem.
I sent my dxdiag to GGG and I use process lasso -2 cores to at least prevent the system from stalling completely. But I am barely playing at the moment due to this issue. I could play on linux, but on Windows 11 24H2 it still often crashes for me. I have the Windows 11 24H2 update installed since early October and I refrain from reinstalling my OS. I use the PC for work and I have quite a bunch of software installed and everything besides PoE1 and PoE2 runs stable. And I find the lack of communication regarding this rather hard issue a bit concerning to be honest. If a least GGG would post a statement saying that after the long crunch before EA release the whole team is exhausted and many coders now on leave etc. That would be totally understandable, but this no communication strat sucks a bit. November 21, 2024-KB5048162 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2
- Addresses an issue where in rare cases where an infinite loop could occur when a thread enters CLR for the first time. Known issues in this update - Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues in this update. Just got the update, fingers crossed. If anybody else is interested in giving it a shot, just go to "Windows update" and look for "optional updates". |

" I have this update installed since 24th of November and I still have the crashes / lock up. |

My 9800x3d used to spike up to 93 c while loading textures . Now in game I get around 55-65 C and during loading around 75-79C.
Make sure to update your mobo to latest bios. In bios keep everything default except your ram if you use xmp. Do not use game mode and don’t use mobo TdP 105 watts. I had mobo at max 105 watts and saw 93C spikes in some games when loading textures/maps. Now I don’t have any spikes above 79C while loading. I redownloaded and installed again the latest AMD chipset drivers. Downloaded all available optional windows 11 updates. This one is very important: November 21, 2024-KB5048162 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 I still crash to desktop while loading and I crash to desktop when looking at the stash tab/inventory for a long time. I stopped having hard freeze crashes. 9800x3d stock X870e Taichi Rtx 4090 64 GB RAM DDR 5 6000 xmp Ssd gen 4 Win 11 up to date + optional updates Last edited by Seba2007#3315 on Dec 16, 2024, 4:38:50 AM

The same shit is happening to me all I want to do is play the game I was enjoying and paid for. I have tried the weird software that reduces the CPU process limit, but it did not work. I just want to play the game and am very disappointed that it has not been fixed yet it's been almost a week. GGG please get more people on this fix. I have sent Timothy my DxDiag file I hope it helps.
Just a reminder of my specs, Geforce RTX 4070 Super Intel i5-14400f A b760 MoBo 32 GB of DDR5 5600mhz Ram Windows Version 11 24H2 I would love to downgrade to 24H3 but can't because it is a new Pre-built PC and I don't have a USB lying around to install a new OS. |
|
" I reported the game also. Everyone should report it because GGG hasn't done anything to resolve this and only addressed people impacted by this TWICE without communicating with us better. This is unacceptable. |
|
The only solution to this I've found seems to be the temporary solution of disabling multithreading every time before a loading screen. I've had this issue since the start of EA, it's starting to get rather tediuous.
|
|
" I don't think it deserves a report it prob a hard issue to resolve but I am sad it has been a week and I have not been able to play the game. |
|
This is the only game I've ever played that uses 100% of my CPU and almost none of my GPU, something is very wrong here.
