Maybe they will fix these crashes on path of exile 3, the best we can do is pray.

The culprit is most definitely Win 11 24H2. Had this happen with several games (twice with PoE 2), and everytime it was when I had just installed the 24H2 update. And when I reroll to 23H2 I never have any issue.

So until Microsoft gets their finger out of their ass and fix this, just roll back the 24H2 update.

It's not, plenty of people rolled back or were already on 23H2 and still have the issue. Stop spreading misinformation.

I had hard lockups 4-5/hour. Ive tried everything what i could find here and on reddit. IVE ROLLED BACK TO 23H2 AND SINCE THEN NOT EVEN 1 CRASH. And now im playing with 100%cpu, OCed GPU, DX12, everything on full. So plenty of people rolled back and works for them.

Not all, I did it and same issue. I even installed Bazzite(fedora) and had no luck. Sometimes it locks even at game's start.

Where did i say "all" ?
Hope this gets fixed soon. Vulkan didn't work, Windows 23H2 didn't work, only disabling multithreading... which makes the game go from averaging 100 fps to 15 - 40 fps. Horrible :(
I have sent my dxdiag but wanted to add some additional information. I was experiencing an issue where my system would lock up, and I had to reset or power cycle to recover. I noticed some users mentioned success by adjusting the CPU affinity for pathofexile.exe and unchecking the last two processors. This approach has helped as the game still locks up but I am able to kill the process from Task Manager. I have adjusted my shortcut to launch a script with the following command:

start "" /affinity 3F "C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile 2\PathOfExile.exe"

System Specs:
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 24H2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor
RAM: 32.0 GB
Storage: SSD - 3.6 TB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER
Nvidia Driver: Game Ready Driver - 566.36 - Thu Dec 5, 2024
Display: Asus PG32UCDM
Resolution: 3840 x 2160
Even better.

Now my PC doesn't want to boot on BIOS anymore since these hard crashes.

If I'm able to get a display it crashes then fans goes wild.

So MUCH fun now.

IT is not a Win11 issue. I'm on Win 10, I have the same issue. There are people reporting hard crashes from wide variety of windows builds. If you had read the thread you would have known this. Yet you come here and spread misinformation.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.
Add onto the list

9800x3d, 4090, Asrock 870e taichi lite, Samsung NVME's and latest window and latest BIOS (came out three days ago)

Crash mainly at load screens, but also had at least 10 crashes while in the inventory screen and selecting a weapon to move (come back from crash with that item still selected for movement).

Most crashes are hard, complete computer lock up

Unchecking multithreading has been the only thing to help (vulkan did not), but it brings fps down to a crawl, especially in hub.
This is so reassuring for me to see this get some mainstream attention. He’s been dealing with the same hard crashes as all of us. Hopefully someone as high profile as him will open the door for this to start being covered by other content creators, potentially expediting a possible fix.

Navigate to 5 hours 56 minutes where he was asked about it goes into detail for a few minutes.

Still waiting for fix. His work around is one we’ve known about (disable Engine Multithreading before loading screens). I’d love to try this on my pc more extensively but I can’t even get past the main loading screen to even access options without crashing. I’ve all but given up since the last crash I had had my pc acting funky on the reboot.
There are solutions that may work for some. I did try a bunch and neither worked.
I tried 23H2, Bazzite, Process Lasso, BES, Vulkan, you named it.

Yesterday I visit my board's(b450 prime plus) drivers page and I saw there was a "new" bios (4622). I was at 4402 (previous version)

Since then I'm playing without any crashes/freezes and any restritions (4/5 hours).
I have SMT and SVM enabled.

IG I have everything at default.

Maybe one of the fixes for client crashes helped my setup, idk.

Setup:
R5 5600x (b450 prime plus)
3070

Again, I spent the last 7 days troubleshooting my entire system and was "forced" to play on my Rog ally since it is incredible stable for Poe2.

It may not be solved and I probably will have crashes in the next days or in a few hours, but for now it's stable. In the past I couldn't play more than 10 min straight without a force shutdown.

Best of luck to us all
