" ssf yes. %damage taken as mana. sadly. no. I like the mechanic. but the reality is, gearing and passives for just pure ES are far far more efficient, even without gaze, atziris, or wraith. this is especially true with chaos not bypassing ES in poe2. there is nothing like Grim feast, or just raw ES scaling on gear for life, or mana. well, EB, but then that also requires major investment to cover your life, with either said uniques, or massive % damage taken from mana. 7 passives for 24%, 10 more for 34% on the tree. those 7 passives can easily be 70% es, 10% reduced life from heavy buffer for 3 points, maybe 70%in es on helm for 1point, 75% es for 2 points in patient barrier. % damage taken from mana on jewels is certainly still fine. thats a suffix on sapphires. %ES is a prefix on sapphires. I have 4 jewels, which could be 16% damage taken from mana. other sapphire suffix are, crit chance, crit damage, cast speed, reduced ailment duration, debuffs expire 15% faster, meta skills gain 15% inc energy, 32% freeze threshold, recover % mana on kill, 15$ mana regen, 2% max cold resist, 25% inc offering duration. thats the opportunity cost. I am not actually playing atm much. don't love farming trials for jewels/soul cores. don't love the actual process of blocking/juicing maps. don't enjoy rituals spawning with 90% of the playing field blocked off due to map gen. then getting tornados of rats, blood waves, or exploding ground. none of which I can even see thanks to icewalls, bombs, and other spell effects completely obscuring the ground. oh, neat, pob has an export to maxroll button. can't import TO pob like poe1 yet. but here is my setup, as far as I was bothered to copy over. ha. gear is correct(except for rattlingscepter/shield in weapon swap. didn't bother with a copy/paste there. I DO have the unique %duration shield though). since its easy to copy/paste. skills are mostly correct iirc. didn't double check to make sure I didnt forget something. probably did.. https://maxroll.gg/poe2/pob/rsoc50yt edit: I've not actually played since noticing arcane blossom is not working correctly. this would be an optimization I should do, when I log back in. https://maxroll.gg/poe2/pob/7kog2051 those 4 points in arcane blossom would be better in arcane surge effect. all the middle pathing then can be moved, without blossom, without over exposure anymore. I was using the soul offering duration... kindof. it was clunky. but there. I could move those w2 points to chronomancy I think. anyway, also frees up 2 travel points, which can get me enchanced barrier right now, and another point towards hindered cap. " Hi death, u can share u itens and jewels pls. The build is looking good, I'm learning how to play with it, I still have a lot of difficulty seeing the scenario, seeing what's on the ground and a little difficulty in the boss rotation, knowing exactly what to do. But it's exactly the build I've always wanted to do since I started playing. Last edited by thedoldivic#1741 on Jan 24, 2025, 1:58:11 PM

Alright, guys. I have some questions.
Is there anyone who actually uses Spark for clearing w/o CoS-LC? I gave it an honest shot with 4.6k mana w/o Lightning Rod...and damn, it felt really bad with 40k tooltip in comparison to Fb/Snakepit. I'm not sure if it's better than regular frostbolt w/o Snakepit in my setup. Energy generation for CoC is bad. Breaking walls is bad. Dunno... I mean, it's obvious that I need to compare 80k spark to 80k frostbolt explosion that I have rn, but I found Spark is kinda hard to scale on my build. Spark doesn't seem especially good for our build, it has a meh crit chance and it's a lot of small projectile not in zone, so the crit on wall thing does not seem good.
Unrelated, I've read that all electric damage proc shock, but despite me doing about 75% electric-25%cold, I never shock anything (but do freeze). With blueflame bracer, you do freeze with fireball, so it should be indeed damage type rather than the actual spell... Anyone knows how is it supposed to work? |

" Currently doing spark, not sure what my actual dps is since sparks dps is always higher than the tool tip. You have to run pierce on spark. Also I run a minion with CI so that I can utilize Minion Pact for 40% more damage. It explodes walls instantly and since the sparks fill the room, as soon as you lay down a wall it explodes without having to wait for frostballs to finally hit the wall. Also you can drop that stupid snake bite ring and run double breach rings with an ingenuity belt. 5k mana feels nice. Also mapping is way better, cast spark every half a second and run forward.. everything will be dead in front of you. Breaches also feel better. My only issue(was also an issue with frostbolt) I cannot get past wave 12 of tier 2 simulacrum lol. Not sure how you did it on max difficulty. Are you running concentrated effect + elemental focus on your COC in the simulacrum? For reference my Frost bolt sheet dps is: 27.3k before any buffs. Spark: 26.3k before any buffs. Comets are doing 200k before any buffs without concentrated effect + elemental focus. 2.3k energy shield, 5k mana. 9% Archmage All other gems level 20. +4 to all spell skills wand with 100 crit chance and 90% spell damage. Comets seem to fall at the same rate as frostbolt. 40% chance to crit on spark, but each spark hits the enemy multiple times, and there are a lot of sparks on the field at all times. I think my next upgrade will be the unique mana flask and a beefed up amulet to replace azure and run a full mana setup. Tried it without the mana flask and your butt hole is puckered the entire time LOL |

" One of the most common questions here, I think I need to do some F.A.Q. Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/1hi6mo4/dont_be_like_me_know_that_ailments_work/ tl;dr: Scale the damage and crit. Chance to shock can help too. All ailments in poe 2 are hit-based. More damage with hits you do - more chance to apply ailments you have. " To check if you actually apply smth or not - go to act 1 cruel Clearfell boss (she's always on the top of the portal, unless your layout is irregular). Quick dummy to check the stuff. " Oh, I've read somewhere Spark can hit 1 target only twice per 1 cast at max (w/ Pierce). Thanks for the advice, yeah, tested w/o Pierce 1st, just ran a map with it, def better, but still not that good. I feel overall way slower than with frostbolt, despite offscreen clear. Literally bc I have to do more casts in general. I guess it's all about scaling tho. Bc rn for me it can neither reliably break the walls nor clear trash in 1 cast at all. Damage spreading is too big. Lightning Rod anoint might help here tho. I have 14k average damage (not dps) and it's definitely not enough. With Frostbolt, it's just 1 FB cast and 1 wall cast on top of them for everything to die. About Simulacrum, idk, I didn't fail a single one on my main toon for weeks already. Low-budget one, yes, damage wasn't good for d2. I ran impetus-energy retention until waves 13-14, than swap conc instead of energy retention - good enough for me. Yesterday tho I tried the scuffed spark and frostbolt w/o snakepit, and I had to switch to snakepit from wave 3. After that was just a smooth sail, as usual. Bludgeon in the wall carries hard. |
