So, as I'm reading this, is everyone just switching to hexblaster or is there someone still trying to make DoTs feel somehow decent

I'm still on DOT plan. On a break for weekdays, but was in T15 and happy on SSF.
Clear is great, bosses are a little bit slow, but still ok (lvl 81 boss in defensive map with +2 difficulty from atlas can take more than a minute, but my gear is still pretty garbage, I still don't understand how to reliably get gear on SSF).

Main complain now is that I was not able to solve mana problem without Attuned wand and it feels a little bit clunky.

Planning to go for pinnacles next weekend.

And is there someone going Blood Mage? I really don't want to reroll, not feeling like doing the campaign again... I rather invest effort to try to make it work better.

1 button build for trash, bosses you can throw up your dots > drop totem > Hexblast spam. I hate the playstyle and skill but it is, imo, superior in every way.

If a friend asked me what "chaos build" to play I would tell them Hexblast.

Gamble at vendor, gamble with orb spam and pray for good drops. Those are your only options as SSF.

Yep, currently gamble is the main source of my gear (also, useful trick is to regal all gambled magics and 3-1 them). But it is infuriatingly slow and random. I have +5 fire wand already, but I haven't seen even a +3 chaos yet (fortunately rolled +3 all spells, but it took multiple hundreds of wands to identify/gamble/3-1).

The most infuriating part is resists, without ability to harvest-flip or bench-craft they are impossible to balance. I'm in T15 and still my chaos is uncapped.

As you can't replace runes, getting a gear upgrade is a nightmare, each piece will toggle reshuffle of the whole set.

Thanks for posting this.

Have you mentioned any details about your gem setup / passive tree in this thread? I would go back to previous pages, but I don't want to do it in vain in case you didn't mention anything.

I just entered maps. Damage is not too bad, even though it's a bit annoying to get the dots going and I have to backtrack a lot. Defenses are the problem and mana hungriness...

Thank you for your take on this. I'm starting to lean towards trying hexblast. I'm just a bit worried about respec costs in case I'm not able to make it work decently.

So you basically pick up a lot of crit nodes on the tree, right?
Looks like we getting buffs in the next patch to chaos damage over time skills. Yay!

I have drafted a guide on mobalitics and shared a link before: https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/d20c7f59-361d-4242-b860-f972145bad2f/builds/6298d281-4417-422f-b0bd-9782e7eba4b1

Hexblaster's dots still feel pretty decent imo, hexblast is for wave clear, since its quicker to do, but if you have time for ES+Cognation+dark effigy combo, its still pretty strong, put the poison support gem on dark effigy and everyone will get poisoned.

The DoT's also getting a buff soon.

With my take on the build survivability was insane (a bit worse in high tier maps but still really good), clear was awsome, but bossing could see some improvement. Still very safe, but takes a bit more time than one would like.

I guess for red maps either ES or MOM is the way to go to feel completely safe (I'm life with partial mom).

For now my main problems there survivability-wise is monkey-boss and kitava-like statue. Haven't died on trash or others, but these two make me wish to have more tank (or get better with dodging). If I was on hc would 100% just skip them.

I see! Yes, I've seen this guide before, I got it in my bookmarks. I just didn't realize it was written by you :)

I will check it once again to search for some upgrades I can do.

Thanks!
