Yeah I got it working, same as the others just changing the ini file to directx12 running on m4 pro. But the guy above is right, the preload is also up on Steam macos.

Donwloading and crossing fingers!

Any update for us?
Macbook M4 Pro here, managed to run successfully by following these steps:

Crossover settings:

D3DMetal
ESync

Crossover -> Open C: Driver of your bottle (right click) -> users/crossover/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/poe2_production_Config.ini -> Look for the line that begins with "renderer_type" and make that line into:
renderer_type=DirectX12

Game runs just fine. Videos/preloading seem terrible however. Once they are loaded everything seems fine @ 50-60 FPS. Will update with more gameplay experience.

EDIT: Make sure you have D3DMetal, game is so much better.

The game is not even downloading for me via Crossover. Maybe due to maintenance.
Following the above thread step by step..

Getting error when loading the PoE2 inside of its bottle:

"Could not overwrite executable with new patched executable. Please make sure that the PathOfExile.exe or PathOfExile.tmp are not still running. If necessary, you may need to reboot your computer."

Made sure all instances/tasks were ended and restarted the computer, still same thing. Any advice?
Gotchu.

This is a classic error, ran into it on POE1 all the time.

To fix this (assuming you're using a standalone bottle of the launcher in Crossover)

1: right click on the bottle, and open the C Drive

2: Navigate--->Program Files (x86)-->grinding Gear games-->Path of Exile 2

3: rename the file "PathofExile.exe" (not pathofexile_x64) ((can be anything, I usually just delete of for example))

4: rename "PathofExile.tmp" to "PathofExile.exe"

5: Relauch the launcher and the update should go as planned and you should be good to go

Crossover is working fine max 70+ fps, can go as low as 40 something in the later stages with lots of spells and effects flying around. M4 pro

Now I did try the download with steam, but the game wont launch, says the .exe is missing. So, I think steam messed up and put the windows version up. I find it very weird that it's still up there.

Worked for me! THX for sharing!
Installed Path of Exile 2 Early Access on Steam via a Crossover Preview with D3DMetal and MSync enabled. Only needed to change ~/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/production_Config.ini with renderer_type=DirectX12. I have it running on Mac Studio M1 Ultra with an Xbox Elite 2 Controller and runs at around 55-60 fps @ 4K. Have been playing on the Xbox as well and cross platform support works perfectly.
