Who here has no interest in the relaunch of 3.25?

I agree everyone should play what they enjoy, Meta or not. If you don't enjoy it, why play it, is my question

, but that doesn't mean it still can't be fun enough to keep playing it. You come to terms with the problems.

Knowing this, it suggests that the fundamental experience may be good enough, but is soured by flaws in the balancing of the game.

You seem to be only responding to the content of my statements, without regard for the OP's initial statement. Exsea is saying (or at least appears to me to be saying) he is not playing/considering not playing because of the bad experience. So the experience is not "good enough" in this case.

Thing is, the feel of play and reward you get from meta builds is just better tenfold. And that extreme disparity can induce antagonistic feelings, but you might be too bound to the type of gameplay you enjoy, so the push to go with the meta just feels even more annoying. Especially when you see those builds plastered everywhere.

Personally I agree they are more rewarding and a better experience, as I am a Meta-build enjoyer. People complaining about the disparity are what induces the antagonistic feelings.

1. Play what you -enjoy-. If what was once your favorite build feels bad in the latest content, CHANGE BUILDS. The goal of the content dev team is not to make sure that the million (or whatever number) builds all stay viable. It is to make interesting content and ensure the player base has the tools available to succeed in that content.

2. The best tools available mentioned above are what become the current Meta.

Ref: In video games, "meta" is an acronym for "most effective tactics available". It refers to a strategy that is generally agreed upon by the gaming community as the best way to win or perform a specific task.

3. Again, if you -enjoy- doing things a different way, or whatever other motivation you have to not play the meta, that's awesome for you. Unless it isnt. If it's not awesome, CHANGE YOUR BUILD.

i ll be real. my build SUCKS ASS

but it is MY build. i dont copy any other persons build. i farm up a ton of divines to get my build online.

i have a ton of fun at t14-t16

i can clear certain t17s.

but i cant clear uber pinnacles and i have a VERY rough leveling process.

i always find it funny when people say stuff like playing better builds. what are better? some builds are objectively much better than the rest of the builds in the game.

to me i believe a lot of top percenters actually just follow build guides. only a few people are actually truly skilled at making actual builds in the game.

to that i would also believe that whenever anyone says "play a better build" its actually translates to "follow a build guide".

my gaming philosophy is similar with josh strife hayes. i get a lot of enjoyment doing my own thing rather than just over optimize the fun out of the game.

i would point out, that was what POE was back in the day, just that devs kept expanding the game by adding harder content. t16s were the END END game once upon a time. not t16s are the base benchmark of what players are expected to clear.

as for why i m playing settlers. i honestly thought i was DONE with POE and was sick of it. i came back in affliction because charms and second ascendancy. i came back again in settlers because i wanted to try the melee buff.

which was why i returned to see if i could make my shitty build work. my shitty build is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better now. i m finally having much more fun than i have had for the past 10 years. heh buff melee was the only thing that i needed eh? settlers is insanely addictive too.

nah, i m at the point that i ll just stop playing truthfully. i ll re emphasize what i said. t16s were the pinnacle of content in POE. POE was all about making stupid builds but with all the harder content that exists now, the bar is set so high up.

for sure you can say POE changed, learn to adapt. i have and i have had enough fun. i ll simply quit the game if it stops being fun to me. i m fine with not killing the ubers. my build has cleared everything i wanted to clear that i care for. the sad fact is GGG keeps steering the game to push players to clear the ubers.

we never needed t17s. we never needed a bridge. ubers were "aspirational" content. but the way the game is going we can see how players are expected to get that high.

settlers is a good example. juiced vs unjuiced maps grant significantly much more gold. and this is before t17s come into the picture.

when the game is tailored around such levels of difficulty. i will stop to consider, do i want to play a league where i need to clear the hardest content in order to truly enjoy it? and the answer is no, i wont "play a better build". i ll just NOT PLAY.
