Who here has no interest in the relaunch of 3.25?

ngl i m tempted to just work to get a free lootbox and thats about it.

then again i always play non meta so the experience is real bad that its not worth the time and effort.

i m still invested in the current league tho so maybe not...

3 of which I do not care about because they are not the type of games I play. Shadow of the Erdtree was a highlight, but that's a pretty sad amount of highlights for a whole year.

It's not a bad league.
The Settlers is still a decent diversion.

The issue is in my opinion.

The game is no longer as fun as it used to be.
Not because i played the crap out of it.
But becasue the core game is less.

Nobody is motivated to play.
The game is at a point where if there is no "bribe"
to play, its not worth it.

Ill play for a little bit.
But TBH knowing my build has no future, having tried it in v1
i don't have much drive to play

Let's be honest. Only few people on this forum are aware that PoE2 is not only new content, but huge step forward to develop things faster and with better results. They can't say this, but PoE2 will replace PoE1.

I hope that when it happens GGG will give us PoE1 offline version.

Only case I wouldn't mind POE1 being abandoned completely.

The things we could fix, adjust, change and mod the way we preferred if we were given the server client... Damn, it would be awesome.

Probably it will never happen, but one can dream:)

I'm so confused. You play off-meta builds and hate the experience so much that it makes you not want to play? Why would you not play a better build then?

Meta means more expensive and limited item supply. Or it just isn't fun to someone. They are not mutually exclusive, either.

I'm aware they are not mutually exclusive. Lots of people enjoy playing non-meta build. However, Exsea made the statement "i always play non meta so the experience is real bad".

I agree everyone should play what they enjoy, Meta or not. If you don't enjoy it, why play it, is my question

I think they meant comparably.

Comparably, CWDT builds with Eye of Innocence feel bad to play, but at the same time they are super fun (to me). Dying to lag or on-death explosions etc. can sour the experience, but that doesn't mean it still can't be fun enough to keep playing it. You come to terms with the problems.

Thing is, the feel of play and reward you get from meta builds is just better tenfold. And that extreme disparity can induce antagonistic feelings, but you might be too bound to the type of gameplay you enjoy, so the push to go with the meta just feels even more annoying. Especially when you see those builds plastered everywhere.

Imagine this scenario: You have a melee dude that deals 5x more damage than a ranged dude. However, enemy attacks are set up in a way where you get hit all the time, unless you keep walking backwards while you fire your ranged weapon. The melee user might get enjoyment from being this up close and personal with enemies, but the downside becomes crystal clear as the difficulty ramps up.

This exact scenario is one of the issues Enshrouded currently suffers from. Melee deals much more damage, but I can kill 90% of enemies by walking backwards/to the side while firing my wand. It just takes longer, but is so much safer in every way.

That said, this very thing could be extremely annoying to the melee user, but they simply might get no enjoyment out of that ranged playstyle. Knowing this, it suggests that the fundamental experience may be good enough, but is soured by flaws in the balancing of the game.

That's just not true.

1. More expensive for the BiS perfect items, sure.

2. But the supply of everything is greater for Meta builds.

a. There are more people crafting the items
b. There are more people modifying their loot filters for items that would be considered too low-value if not meta (ex. Kitava helm)
c. There are more people selling their old gear as they upgrade
d. There are more content creators publishing knowledge on obtaining/crafting the builds items, further increasing points a and b.

3. You can't make a statement about build cost and not factor in power. Meta builds are meta for several reasons, but their power curves (power level at various tiers of gearing) are one of the main ones.

So while the Icenova or Power Siphon builds you may be seeing are more expensive than whatever non-meta build you have in mind, they are also probably significantly more powerful in the gearing phase you are using to make that determination.

If you were to take the same non-meta build, with DPS of (x) and then construct a comparison meta build with the goal of only reaching (x) DPS, I think in most cases you would find that the meta build budget was very comparable or even often lower than the non-meta build it is being compared to.
