What was the reasoning for running a second Settlers league concurrently?!

As a long-time player I think it would be a good idea to end the current league and only have the event for a few months. Having two leagues is a bad idea and waters down the incentive to play the event. But, the players need a week or so warning if they are ending Settlers1 to be fair.

I'm not redoing settlers from scratch because a small minority of people got burnt out on day 2 in July from their eyeballs falling out because they have no concept of moderation, health, etc.

Scrapping settlers 1 to do settlers 2 will just make me stop playing. It will just be the same game with the same horrible issues except I will be broke.

Settlers league will be a 6 month long league, which honestly, is terrible. On top of that, Settlers 2 league, will run concurrently. Why not end settlers 1 and then start settlers 2, instead of splitting your playerbase between the two?

"hey, stop playing settlers 1, and come do the exact same thing, for the exact same stuff, for absolutely no reason in settlers 2!!!"

"A Mystery box" is all players have to earn for a second duplicate league? How about some new microtransactions or even sick recolors...

its going to be a lot more rewarding, they dont want a new league to conflict with poe 2 ending the league does nothing those who want to continue may those who dont can start new its a win for all

I only play one build per league lately so this league it was hexblast trickster which was good but not WOW.

So I might try some svalinn or hiero shenanigans for settlers #2, fresh league economy and all. I kinda hoped for a batshit insane voided league but eh, the plate is set, the food is the same as last time, up to you if you eat or not.

because butt hurt idiots that want to play PoE2 are crying about compensation of some sort for the unexpected if necessary delay, what GGG have come up with is pretty easy to implement, and dose not require that they take people away from fixing the issues with PoE2.

A fresh economy and ladder is always nice, especially when Settlers came out months ago now. I usually only make 1 or 2 characters a league, so joining Settlers version 2.0 would give me a reason to replay the game with a different class and build. Having two of the same leagues concurrently will worsen the economy, but player numbers are low anyway until Poe2 comes out.
I guess most of us will move to PoE 2 as soon as it's available.

I don't see myself playing Settlers 2 for two months, considering I've already completed the challenges.

and how long do you think 3 acts will keep you occupied?

and it was a bad idea to split up the playerbase. the people who dont want to start settlers all over for nothing will be playing in a dead league. its already been pretty dead since they announced the league split.
To the people currently playing the Settlers league and not seeing the benefit of this "parallel" league, below are just the options I can think.

You might not be the ideal target for such a league, but there are people for whom this is defeinately welcome.

a) a fresh economy reset and/or chance to get ahead having complete league information from hour-1
b) a new challenge (and possibly new builds) without the current access to resoureces
c) for those of us that were done with the current league weeks/months ago, this is a chance to play some computer for a few weeks in this prolonged waiting period.

There's probably more reasons, and while 1 of them might be enough to get someone to play, it's likely there are people for whom none of them apply.

Fresh start and fresh economy is a good incentive for people to consider playing this....

I can simply not understand why. I mean, if you have missed the 3.25 start and you don't want to start when a league is already 3 month old I can understand that but what is the upside for players that have already played 3.25 from day one? If you have your max level town and your level 100 char and all the gear and currency you need/want what would be good about a "fresh start" and a "fresh economy"? I seriously don't get it!

Agreed and there is no point.

If I can login to Settlers 1 now with a new character. ALL ITEMS in the game are at an absolutely low price compared to a fresh reset. So why would anyone want to play a new server because after 1-2 weeks, you are in the exact same spot you are in now.

They could easily just add incentives to this new refresh, previous game mechanics, boosts to drops or quality etc but instead they add the most bland mechanic that offers nothing in the grand scheme of things when you start to actually map.

Pretty much a let down and clueless to what people are wanting. 6 months with the same content is pathetic, especially going into the festive season.
