What was the reasoning for running a second Settlers league concurrently?!

Settlers league will be a 6 month long league, which honestly, is terrible. On top of that, Settlers 2 league, will run concurrently. Why not end settlers 1 and then start settlers 2, instead of splitting your playerbase between the two?

"hey, stop playing settlers 1, and come do the exact same thing, for the exact same stuff, for absolutely no reason in settlers 2!!!"

"A Mystery box" is all players have to earn for a second duplicate league? How about some new microtransactions or even sick recolors...

Because it is optional. Legacy league also didn't end when we got some events near the end of it.
Cause poe2 crunch , poe1 no priority right now
Because if GGG shut down Settlers 1 in favor of Settlers 2 ("New and IMPROVED!"), players might riot. ='[.]'=

Kingmarsh will most certainly end when 3.26 is released, and there won't be a Standard, Kingmarsh and new 3.26+ temp league. And it doesn't answer anything about the reasoning behind running two concurrent temp leagues that are the same but one has buffs. It would have made a lot more sense if they had added the buffs to maps and areas to the current temp league. It's not like leveling up the Farmville town wasn't annoying af.

Fresh start and fresh economy is a good incentive for people to consider playing this without forcing said fresh start on people who are content playing with what they already have right now. That's the definition of optional.

So restart the same league, fresh, for what? Something like two months?

I can simply not understand why. I mean, if you have missed the 3.25 start and you don't want to start when a league is already 3 month old I can understand that but what is the upside for players that have already played 3.25 from day one? If you have your max level town and your level 100 char and all the gear and currency you need/want what would be good about a "fresh start" and a "fresh economy"? I seriously don't get it!

The obvious answer to every question I've seen so far about 3.26 is that it's all hands on deck for PoE2 in a way that GGG did not foresee. I get that no-one is happy about 3.26 being delayed until January, in the same way that no-one is happy about PoE2 being delayed to December. In both cases, that includes everyone at GGG. They didn't want this either, and were clearly hoping that it wouldn't be necessary, but it is, so they're doing the responsible thing.

If you're someone who plans their paid time off around the PoE league schedule, then yes, this sucks. And no, a Settlers League with Lantern event isn't really a replacement for the league folks were expecting to be playing a month from now. The reason that they aren't going bigger is that everyone on the team is busy.

Grinding Gear Games is not a AAA studio yet. The may be owned by a Tencent subsidiary, but that does not mean that they are Tencent, or that they have infinite resources. In particular, they do not have a AAA studio's head count. It's not just a question of money; people make games and recruiting good people who will be passionate about the game they'll be making has always paid dividends in terms of the quality and quantity of GGG's output.

GGG regularly punch well above their weight class, routinely producing stuff that can go toe-to-toe with the output of giants like Blizzard, who are tens of thousands on the strength compared to GGG's hundreds. I'm not expecting them to do any less this time, either -- they just need a little more time to get there.

The wave of positivity that followed the news of PoE2's delay was inspiring to see. The wave of toxicity that's followed the news of 3.26's delay is depressing. Just let 'em cook, guys. Play some of the other games in the backlog for a month, if a fresh Settlers economy doesn't appeal to you. Come back when the new stuff is ready. The new stuff will all be good stuff, and worth waiting for.
Remember, remember the 6th of December...
I would do a new league yes.
I would end the first one.

I would announce.

"Due to the intense pressures to launch PoE2 while ensuring a high quality product and user experience we have decided to repeat the settlers league as we redirect resources to stay on target. We acknowledge that this is less than ideal and hope our players understand and can appreciate that sometimes quality requires some sacrifices be made.

We have included a few MTX league rewards and a loot box for the new league.
We have also altered the league mechanics in the following way.

-List it.
-Make it more fun, mostly by increasing defensive options not loot pinatas.
"

Done ....
No two leagues, no over the top ass kiss.
Just make it a reset so people can compete again however they wish.
Add some fun flavor but not more loot .. loot i mean ok .. but you need to do something that will make a SSF player come play a league again ..

I don't want to use this post as a forum for venting but perhaps part of the fun
would have been making T17's only roll the beneficial mods also.

Its an opportunity really.
I think all players can get behind ... hey .. we are stuck with the same mechanic.

So GGG being cool gave us a reset and something to do ...
and man it is jank ... you gotta see it...

The league starts with the proposed bonus to "good map mods"
t17's are running the "good mods" also ...

at level 85 or 90 you switch to gauntlet mode .. where mobs and encounters share the same attributes of the just run Gauntlet.

All Gauntlet Ubers drop extra loot and a chance for a unique pet.
The pets are different for Trade/SSF/Hardcore and are limited to this league.

Go at it

Milk the FoMo .... doEEEET
