We NEED more content like T17, it is time for T18
Loot multipliers in T17 maps are bad.
They shouldn't exist, certainly not with that kind of magnitude. The fact that a T17 map will always roll six mods is already pretty good. Chaosing a T16 map results in 4-mod trash 75% of the time. Six mod 32+ packsize maps are rare, you need to spam like 10 chaoses on average on each map.
"Forums and Reddit are still just that, a vocal minority in no way or form representative of the playerbase at large. That's an actual fact and not some anecdote to back up an online argument. The actual majority is busy playing the game and after they're done for the league, they're doing something else until next time.

haha, nice indeed. and would you consider at this point that you won the game and the grind you needed to get to this point is enough ? that this was hard enough in terms of grind ? Last edited by SerialF on Oct 28, 2024, 8:44:43 AM

" That's what t17s should have been from the start, they should just do that and then all the complaints about these maps bricking the economy, being annoying to roll and having anti-fun monster design would all go away. Because it would just be another boss invitation, just like eater, exarch, breachlords etc. If you want more loot, just roll it with some mods exactly how you can roll all the maven invitations for more loot. If t17s are supposed to prepare you for uber bosses, well it makes no sense for them to even be maps. Just make them invitations to the boss arenas, rename them from t17 to something else that makes sense and call it a day. And obviously invitations wouldn't be affected by the atlas. Problem solved. It's definitely not time for T18, we barely have started T17.
I would like to see, a story line addition that creates a new page or expansion to the Atlas. Give us some more T17's, some new unique maps, etc. This could include added T17 unique mods, new ways to craft them or changes to their craft potential (maybe let T17 maps have up to 25% quality or 120% delirum, corrupt twice with vaal orbs, etc) “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.” Last edited by Piousqd on Oct 28, 2024, 9:38:51 AM

Given that we once had 100% delirious T19 Maps with unique watcher stones as the end game content i wouldnt mind t18 content.
The important part are the risk/reward ratio and rarity i think that needs very deep looks.
" I'd say that is the wrong kind of question because none of this is even remotely part of progression. There's no winning involved to begin with. None of this feels like it is part of the main game. You usually have to go out of your way to such a degree to get to it, you won't be rewarded for it at all and you'd never do it unless you think the grind itself is fun. It already is an optional, self-imposed challenge and the journey is the reward. |
|
the reward of beating a difficult challenge ?
what reward do you want. and why a map. asking for new bosses i get it but maps ? maps you grind, so it s more overcome with build and gear. plus adding mods on a map to add challenge is very part of poe. delirium, wildwood are very core. essence is a nice touch on that. i just doubt that the only reason is difficulty. op is also asking for more rewards as expected. " You kinda answered yourself. You can throw a total terrible unoptimized glass cannon character at a single boss fight and still just nuke it out of existence, and there's no satisfaction gained out of doing that nor is it really hard or grindy to build one of those builds. Therefore the challenge part wouldn't exist. Running harder maps at the other hand does require a thoughtfully optimized character which is going to be a more rewarding journey than building the same ice trapper or nuke totem build to tackle the content. Looking at what GGG does for PoE2 with the area and boss reset upon death it's quite obvious that even they didn't really liked the existence of zhp glass cannon builds in PoE1. T17 being maps instead of a single boss fight does reflect that pretty well too. Also you forget the point that we're playing a arpg hack&slay, who wouldn't prefer to slaughter mob density over a single boss fight? lol Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. " I think you are underestimating the ease of glass cannon, absolutely it can be tuned to bosses but a 2k life TS deadeye will outperform most well rounded builds when it comes to farming content. This is always why I quite liked Simulacrum at least before we power crept it so much, Sim was one of the only content types where defences genuinely mattered outside of a handful of skills. I think they will address this in PoE2, however PoE2 will also end up at the same point as its the natural destiny of any game with cycle content and power creep. |
