I would like to pose a challenge to those opposing the addition of Easy-Mode.
For years I've posted against it myself but the only real logical course of action was to find a solution to the problems leading to the requests for easy-mode. So what to do? Break it down to specific problems like Exp Loss, Crafting, Whatever the major complaints are and just think about how those elements can be solved without splitting the population. Here's one attempt to make the crafting system more attractive. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3304040 If these problems get solved, The requests will probably go away. Alternatively those for it could make a short list of their biggest problems for discussion. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony on Oct 5, 2024, 11:00:47 PM

" I'm going to hard-stop you right here. Why do you leap to "the only real logical course of action.....find a solution?" How is that logical? Is it logical for all requests to be taken seriously or acted upon? What kind of franken-creature of a game would that have created over the years? When is this ever a real "logical" course of action? If you spend the time to calculate how often an "easy mode" comes up on these forums and weigh it against all the other "requests" being made, I would bet it is an infinitesimally small request. And just as many "make it harder" threads have been started at the same time. Exp penalty is no different: every time it is brought up, it is fairly evenly argued for/against. So why are you determining that the "logical" action is to ignore 1/2 of the requests, in favor of another? Or pay attention to them at all when half the time the rationale for the changes are argued in bad faith on both sides of the aisle? " Simple, I did not want the player base to be split. Not if a solution existed to solve the complaints. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony on Oct 5, 2024, 11:07:57 PM

Given that the game hasn't really lost any significant number of players despite the constant cries for an easy mode, I'd actually say the only real logical solution for GGG is to do nothing.

" The player base is NOT split though......they are playing the same game right now. Whatever they may say and yell and claim on these forums, they are playing the same game you are, the same game I am. No one is "split" here. Your argument is FOR splitting up the community by offering a different game mode. |

" EXACTLY. this is the data we have, that the game is doing just fine and growing. Despite the complaints. Despite people claiming a huge population of the game doesn't like the game the way it is. This is false. The logical thing to do is for GGG to ignore this thread because it is not based in the reality of the game environment. And that's exactly what they are going to do because, frankly, GGG is way more savvy than anyone on the forums ever gives them credit for. The BEST actions GGG takes are ignoring 99% of what is said on this forum. Last edited by harbingerofdestruction333 on Oct 5, 2024, 11:14:36 PM

" I did not want it to be split. the "to" infers that it was a possibility. It does not state that it is split. Stay safe Exile! I hope to comment on this topic at a later date after i've done exactly what i just suggested in my previous post. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony on Oct 5, 2024, 11:16:51 PM

" Sorry you are right, you did say that in your last post. I apologize, misread it. I do stand by the fact that all the things you brought up as leading to the requests for an easy mode have both sides represented almost equally throughout the years. As such....the solution is to do nothing. It appears that you are only considering one side of the equation: the complaints. And then disregarding what comes AFTER people make those complaints. For example, one shots and random deaths comes up a lot. But then, when you dive deeper it is almost ALWAYS (I'm talking probably a solid 90% or higher) a case of players not building defenses correctly, or actively refusing to build defenses and wondering why they are dying. Is that complaint valid simply because it was made? no. This is also true of the exp penalty for much the same reasons. It does GGG no good to consider these in any way. It is exceedingly rare that a true "problem" comes along....and when it does, GGG pretty often fixes it as quickly as possible. Examples being reflect rares of old, or OG voodoo doll AN, or many OG AN mods that went through multiple balance passes. These were actually valid at the time, and were acted upon. Nowadays? The complaints against them are no longer valid, and generally rest on the player missing something. Crafting is.....a topic that would require a lot more than this thread, and isn't totally related to this topic so I'd rather not dive down that rabbit hole. We could start another thread titled "Crafting Mode" to perhaps discuss that lol. Last edited by harbingerofdestruction333 on Oct 5, 2024, 11:25:45 PM
