Alternate game mode for casual gamers

Also, if I was a developer I'm thinking I would want to create as many options as I could to attract as large an audience as I could. I understand the game is focused around higher difficulty but the harder the game gets the smaller your player base becomes and so does your revenue.

It would be like McDonald's only having a hamburger on their menu or a car dealership only having sedans.

Those people primarily (which make up a lot of money flowing into PoE) are asking for this and a lot of them too.

I don't know what others envision when they think Casual Mode but for me I'm not looking for a lot, just a few changes.

1) Remove death penalty.
2) Blanket decrease of monster damage by X%.
3) Blanket increase of player defense by X%.

I'm not sure what X% would look like but I'd say somewhere around 15-20%, anything to minimize the one-shots and create more viable builds that aren't pigeon-holed into the meta.

That's about all I'd like to see, perhaps others differ but I'd play that in a heartbeat, and I'd play it longer. And I'll say this, if they ever do implement a Casual Mode that works for me, I'll start throwing money at them again.

More revenue is good for business if I remember correctly.

1) won't happen cause GGG does not want players to just corpse rush their way to 100.
2 and 3 already did happen more than often enough with the stacked player power over the years. This league alone got a massive buff on defensive layers.

Just learning the bare bone basics alone is enough to get a character up and going without lots of investment or dying a lot. And no is also does not require a meta build to be extra tanky yada yada.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
the funny part is that the dev ressources dedicated to ruthless was decided by ggg not the players. they wanted to do that. so why the f are you coming to insult us ? make your own thread towards ggg to tell them you dont like the resources they re spending on ruthless and leave us alone. when ggg decided to open the game to more players to get a shiton more money it was their decision. so again, complain to ggg. they wanted the money and they decided to make it easier. it s just with harvest at full power that they thought, ok it s too far. and when they tried expedition they lost 30% revenue and what did they do, THEY reverted it, not us. for the money. so why the f again are you trying to act so condescending towards us. they did it. we all know an easier game mode would bring more players and more money. so it s not a resource problem at all. quite the opposite.
we barely have to ask for an easier mode, because they already know they could get more players that way. so let us do our feedback post quietly and ggg can decide if they have enough money or not.

as for all the quotes from various people, they are almost entirely meaning less. again they did harvest. you should hear a few videos from project pt also on the change to gameplay that happened before i even played long hours. it s should be more "we care about difficulty but money is also important". so the game can take massive turns from league to league. at minimum this will bring some people whining. and again now with poe 2 they re doing it again btw. at least in a separate game but still payed with poe 1 players. so at minimum let us do our feed back. ggg can decide in the end.

and again learning the game, you cant expect people to know all the crazy broken stuff in the game, that s why an easier mode could be interesting, or better bosses in yellow and white maps. would probably work too.

PoE Ninja proves just how pigion-holed builds have become, fewer and fewer viable end-game builds.

As far as what GGG wants, apparently it doesn't include increased revenue because offering fewer options for customers instead of more never results in boons.

It shows just the current most popular used skills.
The only thing that it really proves is that the majority of the player base like to just copy and paste whatever their favorite steamer or content creator plays. Can be due to the sheer amount of fomo because they are afraid that they don't get to play this build next league or simply easy convenience to just copy&paste something that's already all set and ready to go in some cases.

You can rock endgame with every non support ability fine if you do your homework and learn the bare bone basics along with figuring out your playstyle. The game even allows you to make your character well suited for your own desires and nothing really stops you from doing so.
Claiming that not every build can do endgame, or get tanky enough is just a stupid excuse that we hear all over again of players who simply refuse to improve themselves.
In the end yea hitting a wall is in fact always the players fault in one or another way.

Creating a Casual Mode would be easier to implement than Ruthless and would make a lot of players happy, as well as bring back former dissatisfied players. So what's the problem? It's almost like some of you are angry at the thought. But why? It doesn't affect you so why are some of you upset?

More happy customers equals more revenue. That's a fact. There's no downside to having a Casual Mode.

Just relax. It's probably never going to happen anyway.

Not interested in arguing or taking a side. A casual mode wouldn't affect me either way. But I did want to point out this as it is laid out won't work. Here's why:

In SC Trade (where I'm guessing all the casuals play), you buy gear upgrades with what currency you can find. The problem is, in casual mode, there will literally be nothing good to buy. That's because those upgrade pieces you bought were at one point crafted by someone. Very little good gear is dropped. Even if they showered you with currency in casual mode, it would be worthless because casuals by definition don't know how to craft. The players who do know how to craft aren't casuals and they won't be playing this mode.

Casual mode will start to resemble ruthless mode except with tweaked numbers. With nothing to spend your currency on, a ton of folks who try this mode will get bored and leave. The ones who stay will end up with mostly uniques--in other words, this mode will turn into D4.

I understand your point and you're probably correct to a degree but I think you're underestimating the number of players who would play Casual. I can assure you there would be a lot more people playing Casual than there is Ruthless.

And BTW, the way the trade market is ridiculously manipulated like it is now, most casuals can't afford the higher gear anyway lol.
