Game is turning into a glass cannon only builds

with block you can use life on block shield with shield or defiance of destiny amulet. feels good.

Imo, damage will always be king in POE.

Sadly, there are very few skills in the game that allow you to scale damage efficiently and still be able to invest heavily into hit/degen mitigation.

I always clear ubers with some glass cannon build, and can't even imagine myself dancing around for 15-20 minutes in maven/sirus/exarch arna and survive even with 50-100k max phys/ele hit. And then there are still degens all over the ground...

And I can kind of understand op's frustration. We should be given many more and a greater variety of tools to deal with incoming damage, thus having more freedom when it comes to choosing skills and builds.

If GGG did a similar defense/Ascendancy(defense wise) rework like what they did to melee this league, that would be awesome.

I'd like to recommend anyone here, who has issues with defenses, to search for videos from dreamcore on youtube. He made a bunch of them talking about defensive concepts, typically involving certain uniques. There are plenty of good defensive combinations in POE that aren't difficult to fit into just about any build and they aren't expensive either. If you want to tank beam + 2 clones spamming shaper balls from uber shaper then it requires a bit more effort regarding sustain but just getting the maxhits to eat a shaper ball or two is fairly simple and can be done in several ways even without SS.

Cool, so can you POB me a poison cyclone occultist or a storm brand assasin with min 5mill uber dps and minimum 50k max ele hit / at least 20 max phys hit without guard skills on?

I'm not your personal build creator slave so do your own homework and get good if you want to run such a exotic off meta build or stick to meta builds provided by content creators and the delusion of them being the only viable choice.

Getting 50k max ele hit and 20k phys is really not that hard anymore in today's path of exile and even less with the buffs to defense with the current league.
We're not in 2016 anymore and if you struggle to get a build going with both good damage and survivability that's on you.

Turning?:) It is for glass cannons for as long as I've been here. Cannot think of a single content type where oneshotting it would be less efficient than being immortal with low dps tradeoff. You won't get more loot for tanking extra 100 boss attacks, but will for running several more bosses or maps in the same timeframe with your mad clearspeed.
