It's been like this for ages, Can go super deep with the tinfoil hat lol but i think its just the same-old automatic system removing nodes in the skill tree that probably don't exist and sometimes depending on where those points are removed it has to remove the whole tree.

i log into standard after every league end to play old characters for a few days and this never happened. they give you an OPTION to reset but you dont have to. now the whole tree is already reset. have you actually looked?

Sometimes it will reset the whole tree but it has not happened to me a lot, only a handful of times (that i noticed)

do you not get this pop up when you log in? i get it on all the chars i tried so far

Been like this since I have played, which was harvest league, so.... been this way since 2020.

Definitely been that way before that too, guarantee people who played longer can chime in.

i log into old characters every now and then and never got that pop up i linked above. new to me

Just checked, my characters on standard werent reset

Maybe your character was a raider? Those should have been reset because the ascendancy dont exist anymore

Some websites might've cached your recent data like poe ninja though im not sure if they're locally storing or just providing data from poe resources directly.

Can't think of much else to help you outside of asking for help if you cant get a build working again, if it would've worked before the points were reset it will still work now if you can reallocate a suitable tree.

there's also studying modern versions of the builds you were playing as well isn't PoB backwards compatable for loading old trees or no? that could also be helpful if you can find a guide more relevant to when you made that setup.
