trashing peoples characters in standard.

just found out that all my chars in standard have been wiped. i need to put in all my skill points again. wow just wow. obviously i wont bother since i dont even remember what skill trees i had for half of them. not to mention all of them are lvl 95+. i need to manually put in 95+ points all over again? WHY please tell me why we need to do this all the sudden. FOR YEARS we never had to do anything. we could log in and play standard if we wanted to. this is such BS. basically all my chars are ruined now unless i spend 30 mins on each character fixing it.i dont have the tree memorized so not even sure how am i supposed to fix it

Standard isn't balanced around the game sorry.
Dys an sohm
Rohs an kyn
Sahl djahs afah
Mah morn narr
doesnt mean they need to ruin it for people. i cant even play any of my characters unless i spend 30 mins fixing it. F that obviously. i wont bother, but this is just outrageous to me.

Generally it should not force you to wipe unless the tree changed in some major way, This has happened a number of times when the skill tree saw major changes.

It definitely sucks if you don't remember everything you had setup and don't have an archive of your builds (poe planner is good for this)

Generally it should not force you to wipe unless the tree changed in some major way historically.

i tried the character i played in affliction...what major change was there since then? this was only 2 leagues ago

I'm not entirely sure what changed, I might log into standard later and see if things are the same for me, On my end i have archived builds going very far back on poe planner so if it did wipe i can at least look into it a little.

I've had this happen to just one character sometimes or a bunch or not at all for years so its hard to say, Perhaps someone knows the specific mechanics behind it and can offer some insight.

It's been like this for ages, Can go super deep with the tinfoil hat lol but i think its just the same-old automatic system removing nodes in the skill tree that probably don't exist and sometimes depending on where those points are removed it has to remove the whole tree.

i log into standard after every league end to play old characters for a few days and this never happened. they give you an OPTION to reset but you dont have to. now the whole tree is already reset. have you actually looked?
Thats standard.

Cant expect the game to freeze in time for you.
