They use leagues to experiment. Sometimes it is a hit, sometimes a miss (sure, misses have happened a lot the last couple of years, most likely because of high mount of people working on PoE2 instead). They cannot keep tuning a league all the way through. They have to let it go and start on the next one. Always been like that.
Now what happens is they go silent, work on the next league then release it when they feel they have something that can barely hit the check mark and hope the players like it better than the previous one. | |
" How ecaxtly is player rentention a problem were you need to be this accurate? its only a two class problem denpending on your timeframe. you could try it yourself. Make a small program, load in the steam dataset of days and players, classfiy playing (and loss as not playing), than sample random 1000 datapoints, and check the mean of both. Why everybody is missing or forgetting the fact that GGG as a company was bought 100% by tencent? Their entire focus will be on different things from now on ... maybe we should try and play on chinese client.

Like i said earlier they focus on different things, just watched the last trailer, their new strategy is to tap into the console users "currency", but from my narrow viewpoint seems like a dead end. If they add the cross-platform option and you will interact with players from console - hold on to your ping :) If you think a little bit, the next step of gaming will be VR-ARPG Path of Exile, but their team seems like decades behind, my intent is not to spill hate on this forum but to brute force some reaction and to bring focus on things that made this game great and fun, but it looks in vain all the posts from every player that's trying this. WE'll have to just sit on the bench and watch what will be. Maybe we will see Zana come back with a powerfull wand xD We should not seek to use this power to change those around us, no... I doubt that there will be any events. But if there were how about a revisit of Sentinel or Affliction or both? One can dream.

bro they aint gonna compete with d4 season and other stuff its pointless for them to waste time and effort putting out events for the handful of true no lifers who only play 1 game
