Is this what it means "throwing the towel"?
That indeed is a more reliable source
Necropolis league performance is in line with the other leagues even though its slightly worse, but nothing alarming. Was hoping it would be a statistical outlier and they'd pull the brakes early but guess that wont happen lol IGN = Morlinus

Three things will probably get worse for PoE long term if GGG does nothing throughout Necropolis.
1) Those who've already quit the league, stopped playing it's because for them there's a better product to sink their time, like the WOW classic Cataclysm expansion, and that means many of these players will remain there, especially if they get "invested" past this league. 2) It's not just the PoE playerbase, but the established PoE streamers with their amassed fanbase/audience (followers) who most likely will be looking at the first opportunity to migrate to a new or different product long term after their declined viewership and revenue during long periods. Often the difference factor between two mediocre games is the streamer/influencer and which one they choose to play alongside their fanbase. 3) Public relationship that's more important when the game is using a F2P monetizing model. There are times like these when many will find reasons not to support the game/company past Necropolis, but it's also times like these and how GGG chooses to respond to gain positive reputation and that means win back the lost support. Personally, like most I support a product based on how much I care about it, and I'll care a lot more about it and its future the longer I'm engaged with it.
" Are you taking his statement so literally on purpose? The way he phrases it he clearly expresses that he doesn't think 60% is marginal The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

Throwing *in* the towel.
As you were. As you always will be. See signature for details. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

I played today, had a pretty good time.
It’s likely I’ll play again tomorrow, too. League has been really fun, especially the new T17 bosses. Love seeing older resources reimagined and bumped up in difficulty. I hope they double down and add 5-10 more T 17 boss fights next league. |

GGG kinda never releases patches past the first month of league. If a league is good it stays good. If it's bad like this one it stays bad.

" More like exactly the opposite. Big s**t direction the game is heading, followed by a bad league. Bunch of nerfs in player's power, loot and qol, bunch of micromanagement added. T17s a joke, their affixes pool had 3-4 mods that could break any build, and you couldn't roll over. They wanted us to only trade T17s. All this was completely intended, nothing was left in luck at the beginning of the league. Patch 3.24 is where the game is heading, all the fixes are some small step backs they ll revise later. Affliction came before necropolis only to hide the nerf fest.
hmm i finished the league? would would i play more? i've achieved all i wanted.
Also statistiscs are hard. The steamcharts are absolutely enough exapolate data of all other users... a significant statistical fraction starts at 1000 players. also kopo, still not as good as ben, sorry Current Build: Penance Brand

" Well....mathematically you can't just say "significant" starts at an arbitrary number like 1000. But typically you CAN say if you have at least 1% of the total population you are inferencing, you are likely going to draw some highly significant and accurate predications (p less than or equal to .05). More is always better though. For the record, 1000 is absolutely NOT enough to gain any true insights into plyaer retention. Assuming that the total population of the game is usually in the millions (as stated by GGG), this represents way too small of a group. Last edited by jsuslak313 on Jun 1, 2024, 9:25:00 AM
