I thought D4 killed POE already. No?

Yep! D4 killed it right after LE in early access killed it, after Torchlight Infinite killed it as well as Lost Ark which *checks notes* also killed PoE.

LE is pretty fun ay.

but killing poe? not even close x'D at best it will be more fun than poe 2 but we'll see about it.

but who knows what the future will bring on the table.

Your notes are missing a few including the OG killer of POE: D3.

Also, D2R and Wolcen.

It will, sooner or later. No other game is likely to 'kill' it. But tech debt, new hardware unable to run old softwear comes for all programs eventually. Doubly so given this software isn't 'avilable'. Assuming the worst and GGG implodes overnight, the program could vanish entirely, like poor Hellgate London more or less did. I do sincerily hope after PoE2's release (and hopeful success), GGG opts to in some form release a fully downloadable execuitable for PoE1 to ensure a failsave for archiving if nothing else, but just being able to offline it after it becomes more of a 'legacy' game and less of an 'active' game (whenever that ends up being) would make me sleep easier at night.

last epoch = the end for poe 1 can poe 2 compete?

LE is a good game, but try play through it a couple of times, its replayability isent great YET, that might change, no arpg is even remotely close to poe as it is now.
Last Epoch aint anywhere near as good as POE fact. LE has no fun builds , they are all boring to play , and its as shallow as a puddle, has a lot of work to be anywhere near.

Based on the dev talks we had so far i wonder who they are making that game for.

For themselves. Feel the vision, exile!
Last Epoch is fun for maybe 2 weeks max. when doing corrupted timelines. But gets old fast since there are no real endgame bosses or activities. Maybe even less than a week if you're a PoE streamer or consistent 36/40 40/40 player.

Some notes:

- Still bad quest log markers after 5 years. They show you locations where you already got the objective.
- Pathing still bad around stairs or chokepoints
- Proximity loading of new zones. Thats shit can get annoying as fuck when a quest mob is near the portal. Should be manual like in PoE.
- Most passives still have a vague explanation what they do. People have to test if they work at all.
- No damage tooltips in not a few skills(look at example in this post)
Spoiler

- Boss encounters vary from whelming to cringe. Voice acting sounds like place holder, boss music is no real boss music, encounters/animations look bad since years with no improvements. Best example is that ice deer dude vs the fire bird.
- NPC and players characters repeat their lines too often it becomes annoying
- MTX store items look shit but the price is good so it balances out i guess

"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
