Nothing is going to kill PoE. It will always have a fanbase similar to D2.

LE is my game of choice over POE, POE feels like a job, but I really don't think it will impact POE or POE2.

I think path of exile's community is ageing. I don't know If I am any representation of the die-hard fans - a 36 year old with a family and a career - though the only game I play is PoE1. I will not play LE or PoE2. Just playing this league's really been a stretch. When PoE1 rededicates its servers to PoE2, I think I'll stop gaming for good.

All of that to say, no, because of people like me, LE will not kill PoE.

Looking forward to trying LE, still plan to play POE, though I will switch to POE2 if it is good. I think they are both great games by companies that aren't ran by marketing teams. Certainly have my frustrations with POE but it has been a great source of fun this winter and this league was a blast.

I think LE will spike on twitch for maybe a week and then be forgotten by most people.

My issue with LE is that there are almost 0 cool and memoriable bosses with cool and memoriable Music.

The world feels extremely Generic Fantasy.

Almost no memoriable NPC characters.


Gameplay wise and mechanics wise the game is good but the whole world and game just feels Soulles and very forgetable for me because the Above stuff.

D2 does have an offline mode with plenty of mods to mess around.

PoE, however, will die when GGG decides to pull the plug.

main gripes are still hit feedback, combat animations of attacks etc. there is nothing of that on mobs outside some big slam attacks. clunky movement, bad character models which made the clunky movement all the more pronounced, the boring world etc.

Hopefully the 1.0 release will actually make combat great again(for the first time) Vids are looking good. Lore could use the same polish through.

Usually when a (Game name) 2 launches , (Game name) 1 slowly starts dying . So is fair to assume the only PoE 1 's killer will be ... PoE 2 .
