PoE 2 is forced Ruthless mode, GGG not coming right out from the beginning saying so is, um yeah...
" And from what we have seen i can say it plays nothing like poe1. Poeple that played it on exilecon say its not the same. It looks more like isometric gw2 gameplay with dodges, weapon swaps and interweaving different skills and buffs. D2 looks more like poe ruthless than poe2. It is different game, deal with it.
" hmm when you mention gw2 i can actually see that similarities. D2 like ruthless ? why ? i dont see that. deal with it ? why ? did i tell you that i have problems with being a different game :D. its cool with me. both game can crash and burn as for i care. no fks given on my part :D
we know enough about poe 2 to know what it'll feel like to play it
and yes, it is forced ruthless, it is a completely different game, and it'll be nothing like poe 1. [Removed by Support] poe 1 is also likely to be dead after it is out, because casuals/semicasuals won't be playing poe 1 when they could just play the "better" version of it, and this will significantly hurt the trade economy of poe 1. separated league schedules won't solve this, thus "yOu cAn kEeP pLaYinG pOe 1" isn't a real argument because the experience will be significantly worse I'll still play poe 2 when it's out and probably enjoy it, but it's obviously going to be worse than its predecessor. so based on the things we've heard and seen so far, I'm pretty sure it's not going to be my favourite game or anything diablo 4 is getting better every patch, grim dawn just got a massive patch and the devs are actually listening to feedback, last epoch is very promising and is likely to be a real contender in a few years we don't have to play poe or poe 2, if it's bad I'll just move on. I've already stopped spending money on poe 1 after the things I've seen about poe 2. what I just don't understand is why ggg is so adamant about their design choices and why they're removing everything that makes poe unique in the first place. they're a tad late to "let's just copy diablo 2 and hope it works out" party Last edited by auspexa on Nov 30, 2023, 3:57:20 AM

The people who shout "forced Ruthless" need to - in fact - go play some Ruthless. And I don't mean playing till level 50 like some of you did in the 'Ruthless with Gold' event, I mean till you actually make some progress there.
PoE2 will be slower, more deliberate. Doesn't mean it'll be Ruthless. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" That is what you think; speak for yourself. Diablo 2 didn't die with the advent of Diablo 3. Heart of Purity

" since diablo 3 was kinda bad game. and Diablo 2 is in legendary status forever as best ARPG of all times and father of all ARPGS. so of course it did not die :D
" Trust me there will be quite a lot of players who'd rather play poe 1 than poe 2. Also poe 1 got legendary status. Heart of Purity

[Removed by Support] GGG is sometimes actively doing anti-fun, anti-player descisions. This game is going backwards funwise since ritual.

I might play PoE1 still depending if I can find a decently priced pc upgrade before the release or not (inflation hurts so bad D:).
I can live with my semi poor performance in a game I know well, but if PoE 2 makes us more dependent on precise movement my computer will for sure need the upgrade. I don't expect games to hold back and be playable on old rigs forever but it might affect my choise going forward :) In any case. PoE1 is still an amazing game with better replay ability and content flow than any other arpg out there. My only worry is that they might leave a too small team with PoE1 to make money spent there not feel like a donation to poe2 development post launch as well. |
