1) Ancestral Totems being reworked to function as standalone skills only, buffs to melee while active being removed

2) Previous buffs from Ancestral Totems baked into melee skills at 1/2 their value.

So give melee skills (depending on skill) either 9% more melee damage or 10% more attack speed. Melee strike range bonus I can live without.
It wouldn't be op at all and it will make melee much more pleasant to play.
It's something melee community has been vocal about for years, hope we finally see the day.

i wonder why not remove totem buffs and just add this buff stats as mastery. and give ancestral they uniq aspect like it gives def or res or immunity to some random alignment

Because passive tree is already under a lot of strain since masteries are introduced. Mastery means at least 3 point cluster investment required + 1 point for mastery for something that should be given by default.

I think a good one would be to give Gladiator a new Ascendancy node that behaves the same way Ensnaring Arrow does, but for melee attacks.

This would be a big for Gladiator to really have some more dedicated builds.

Buffs are not the most important thing in totems, six-link totems deal almost half of your total damage. If you take totems away, also taking into account the fact that melee are already weak, the buff should be at least 80-100% more damage, this will simply cover the taken totems, which are not so difficult to place on the boss. So melee buff ideally should be 150% more damage to make them playable, if you take totems away.

And you say take away about 80% of their more damage and give them 9%-10%, that is -70% more damage, when they need +70% more to what they already have now with totems :)

6L Ancestral totems are things of the past decade. No one bases their melee builds around linking totems. It's more an afterthought when you have free sockets. Mainly when using 2H weapon.
Main reason for this is in todays PoE where endgame bosses are UE, Exarch, Eater, Maven and various invitations where whole screen is occupied with projectiles, degens and such, totems die instantly and it's hassle in the first place to cast them. No one likes to do that especially because as melee your damage uptime is already low and you're exposed by default. Wasting time on casting totems is bad gameplay.
Ancestral totems can give you extra damage for very short window of time but it's far from being reliable source of damage. Same goes for buffs they give.

Spin-2-win...

Wait...we already have this on CoC builds...how about Rain of Arrows when the game first came out?
-Time to be funny. The world needs funny right now! Warning: "Might" get you muted.

25 Exalts...oh God my stupidity stuck! Now onto 25 Divines...

On Standard or Softcore, especially with trade, yes, most likely, but there are other modes, so if you make a balance, you need to think about balance overall.
Yet another spectral throw buff

Deals 125% of Base Attack Damage -> Deals 150% of Base Attack Damage
Attack Speed: 110% of base -> Attack Speed: 120% of base and remove the ability to use ancestral protector

as this skill is completely worthless outside of DEX and INT stacking.

More like a 2-3l at best regardless of a 2h wep as another 6l setup becomes a aura setup most of the time.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
