" Stop with this warframe nonesens, those are 2 vastly different games, with different goals, progression system, rewards and gameplay and different problems. They have literally nothing in common. PoE doesnt sell new content, they sell looks. Also Arpg games are played for those resets, thats the main apeal. You are encouraged to try different things, to make new character, experiment with new build. Thats the whole point. Shifting meta is what keeps the game fresh. You want to make every skill equal disregarding the identtity of said skills. Some are better for leveling, some scale better, some combo better, some have bettter utility. You cant balance them, its impossible with all different ways you can build a character. Games that have 1/100th of the content PoE has struggle with balance. Its impossible to achieve. Being the odd one out is fine until you want to make it everyone's reality To be charitable to their arguments you could say that maybe it is fine if not all skills are equal in relative power, but that the difference shouldn't be as steep between i.e. Dual Strike and Boneshatter. But again some things are the way they are by design. GGG could slap some 5-10% more damage on skills here and there, and they used to do this. It was an era of pages long patch notes (pre Expedition), but adding 5% damage to e.g. Firestorm doesn't shift the meta. They themselves explained why they did that and anyone interested in balance decisions can look up some of the talks from ExileCon and before The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
