when does this game get less confusing?

Im not complaining. I am having allot of fun with the game but it seems every ACT I move to there is something (like mini games) that you have to learn a whole new list of things.

The beast stuff
the maze stuff
I just got to act 6 or 7 now some contract stuff that I need to get lockpick which i need to figure out.

I never knew this game was so im depth.

Never. Unironically.

And you can ignore the side quest stuff like that until after the campaign if you want. Its basically tutorials for past league mechanics that are still in the game.

The game has an enormous amount of content that is separate from the process of running through the Acts. As said above, you can ignore it and just keep moving through the main game. Most of the side action is relevant to learning the content that becomes more interesting once you are playing the end game maps.

Einhar and his beasts, though, are good for the optional crafting of gear and currency. The best way to get a grasp on the breadth and depth of the game content is to find a buddy in game who can explain things as they appear or guide you through new content. Yes, you can learn it all on your own by playing and using the Wiki, but that is slow and cumbersome.

Once you get your character into maps and they are strong enough to kill map bosses, the side content can add significantly to your fun and loot collection.

You can pm me if you have specific questions.

What is confusing about "Denoted service of 7998 dekhara in the akhara of Balbala, Passives in radius are Conquered by the Maraketh"?
8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

Oh boy - if you consider this complicated already then you are in for a ride my friend :D

Those are the very first, tiny steps into mechanics, which the game has around 25-30 in total at this point.

After the campaign you have the entire endgame with maps and the atlas tree, which lets u specify which of the mechanics u want to build up. And this is just the gameplay part. Even if you manage to understand every mechanic at the most proficient level you still need an overall understanding how to actually farm those profitably (at least if this is one of your goals). We still havent covered crafting, which is a beast on its own as well as market, if you so desire to learn the economic aspects.
And at the very pinnacle, there is build creation, which even after roughly 8k hours I kinda suck at.

As a small reference: 1.000 Hours in PoE will give u a pretty solid overall understanding of the game, 3.5- 4.000 Hours are a benchmark to master it.
Don't let the amount of content overwhelm you. First, you don't really have to interact with all of those minigames if you don't want to. In fact, many veteran players will skip them entirely during the acts, because they want to get to the endgame as fast as possible, and those mini-games only eat up your time.

Second, even during the endgame you can literally just interact with a few bits of content that you like/understand. Then gradually get familiar with other types of content. Basically you are not obliged to do anything, and can play in whatever way you enjoy - that the whole beauty of PoE.
Non-sarcastically

- If you strict follow a meta build you will generally get further and it starts making sense, a lot more than a self made build. You almost need to do this before tinkering with your own build.

-The mechanics only get less confusing after you interact with all 48 of them, and even then you realize you are a beginner not a master at any one of them.

Do you really think that new players are so imbecile, that they need 1000 hours to understand basic things... in a game where you actually have to press one button as fast as possible!?

It is quite overwhelming, but I find focusing on one mechanic (Blight, or Legion) eases the feeling~

And I guess the other systems just came to me naturally over time.

Game is still confusing in a lot of aspects though (Only recently started 'real' crafting)
