Did leagues get better with the new 4 months cycle?

So, many POE players wanted GGG to take their time and switch to a 4 month cycle. Do you feel the results are better, since they did it?

Worse as of late.
You can't answer this with most developers working on PoE 2.

no one told them to abandon poe to work on poe 2. I couldn't care less about a game that's bound to be trash compared to poe 1. they took away everything that makes poe the best arpg, honestly poe 2 seems even worse than d4 so far.

unless they've shown nothing and the endgame is a completely different experience

I personally don't like the new mechanics of the last 3 leagues, however, I feel that the ideas are pretty great and innovative. Perhaps lacking the execution a bit.

Sanctum: I think it was generally loved by the players.

Crucible: Great for people who like crafting, but needed to be more generous because there were scenarios where people did Crucible for a whole day only to end up with no progress at the end of their play sessions

TOTA: again - great and innovative in theory, but terribly balanced.

Is it connected to longer leagues? I'm not sure. Especially with PoE 2 being on the table and a lot of the human resources probably allocated to that.
it's a personal take but for me no not even remotely last couple leagues sucked .... hope that will chance soon cause i don't think i played this little since 10 years.

I mean someone did, they didn't just choose of their own volition i'm sure :p

The fact that very few devs remain on PoE1 is relevant to a discussion about whether 4 month is better than 3 as the two can't be compared for that reason already.
Leagues have gotten worst after expedition
Really really bad since archnemsis.
I don't really like the premise of the question. Expedition, Sentinel and plenty of leagues proved they can make a great league in 3 months.

Sentinel especially was even (from the outside looking in) probably one of the least intensive, simple leagues to make. No extra voice acting like ToTA and Heist (which is a TON of work). No new maps, terrain, 3d models, or boss encounters. Still a banger league.

If you didn't like a league it was probably because you disagree with their design decisions moreso than the time it took them to make it. For example they reallllly really slow rolled buffs to Lake of Kalandra loot. Meanwhile they buffed ToTA to the moon within what, 3 days? Why? Couldn't tell you. But clearly they had their reasons for the post patches of each league and where they wanted things to land.

Every league they've ever made has been made better with time and adjustments. Did an extra month of internal dev help Crucible? We'll never know because we can't play the league the way it would have launched had they released it one month earlier. But here again how many complaints are about things they didn't change mid league anyway? Like the whole channeling mechanic, mid map while monsters are steadily aggroing to you from off screen. An extra year of development wouldn't have changed that, b/c clearly that's what the devs wanted.
