the majority of people on this list didn't even make it to level 10. you can kill hillock and get into this list. this is nothing compared to the number of people who're playing the actual game.

But the number who reached endgame is still pretty sizeable (And PoE is a pretty niche game so that says alot)

PoE has ALREADY lasted, what is this about? It's a decade old game.

PoE stopped be niche long time ago. Its pretty much face of ARPG genre at this point.

A solid metric to evaluate PoE’s longevity is to look at current league player base. It’s pretty bad.

PoE has lasted over 10 years and will continue to last.

Anecdotally my friend who plays every arpg just tried and quit poe.

Only plays hardcore on his ps5.

He stopped after act 5 because

"Servers too unstable"
"Game isn't balanced"
"A lot of things don't work correctly"

It's fun until it isn't. And fwiw he liked it but d4 soured him on endgame stuff in arpgs. He listened to all the lore. In all honesty he saw all the ways ggg target kills players and says nope in doing other things with my time.

I only told him that:
the servers aren't good enough for hardcore,
acts 5-10 were one large patch and a step down in quality,
that the game is very grindy,
and to take your time and enjoy it.

He really enjoyed act 2 and 4. They felt like diablo 2.
