[3.24] Ice Shot / Lightning Arrow Deadeye (Or Tornado Shot) - 400%+ MS, League Start Viable!

I would appreciate some advise on what to get, I'm not sure why my dps and survivability feel so low. I'm playing after a long time so I'm confused on a lot of the new mechanics. https://pobb.in/dWY_Ef8XI3y5

This build is effective and reliable.

(HCSSF with extra mods BTW).

Dec 19: Someone snitched and now our precious spectres are nerfed by about half. They are still a compelling option but not as op as before.

Also new video added to content links which goes over the asenath's mark + Frostblink of WintryBlast Tech to go even faster.

This build is a classic take on the famous Tornado Shot Deadeye.
I made a tremendous effort to optimize the leveling tree and tested all potential skills while leveling, so that you can enjoy the fastest campaign clear you have ever had, with both a low amount of pressure on gear and a manageable amount of points to respec later on.

3.23 Updates:
Spoiler
Many Buffs!

Quality changes:
Tornado Shot: Quality now causes the skill to Fire +0-1 secondary Projectile (huge)
Lightning Arrow: Quality now causes the skill to hit up to +0-2 additional enemies near the target
Ice Shot: Quality now provides 0-60% increased Area of Effect angle

New ascendancies, go Warden of the Maji early.
Oath of the Maji -> Detect Evil -> Coated Blade -> Nature's concoction

Make sure you dont have gems in your boots and you can get 30% movement speed during campaign!

Later on, we probably swap to Wildwood Primalist after we get some good charms. I added some recommendations for tincture mods and charms at the end.

Kaom's spirit nerf.
We still use Berserk but the uptime will be inexistent against single target.
The technology that enables rage generation is automating Warlord's Mark with a manaforged arrow setup linked with Cast on Crit. Warlord's Mark gives 20 rage regen over 1s when marked enemy is stunned. This scales with our Focal Point ascendancy to generate a lot of rage almost instantly.
This cool technology also give us endurance charge while mapping for some added physical mitigation, but it unfortunately reduces our Sniper's Mark uptime against bosses (both marks will alternate).
I suggest that you unsocket Warlord's mark vs Tougher bosses like Eater of World / Searing Exarch.

*note: You cannot stun an enemy on the same hit you freeze them. This is not an issue when you acquire Secrets of Suffering as it turns your freeze into brittles anyway, but before that, your rage generation will be lower.

Rage, Berserk and Warlord's Mark explanation:
Spoiler
So in 3.23 Affliction league, I have introduced a complex system in the build to generate rage for berserk automatically. This is very rewarding when you get it right so I will explain here how it works and why it might not work as well or at all for you.

To start with, we need to generate rage to use berserk.

Rage comes from stunning enemies that are affected by warlord's mark.

(We already stun normal and magic monsters reliably, you don't need any investment in stun). The only caveat at this stage is that you cannot stun an enemy on the same hit you freeze them and you freeze enemy when you crit them with cold damage. If you have the interrogation jewel, you cannot freeze so you can always stun. If you don't, you will still stun, but only on hits that you do not crit with.

We automate warlord's mark in 2 ways, first of all, it gets cast by a cast on crit setup on your manaforged arrow (so you need high crit chance), and then thanks to your focal point ascendancy, warlord's mark will jump from monsters to monsters as you slay them.

To trigger your manaforged arrow setup, you need to spend 300% of it's mana cost with other bow skills. This means that you have to balance your mana cost between costing too much (having mana issues) or costing too little (having manaforged arrow trigger rate issues).

So if you have difficulties generating rage, it can be any of these systems not working optimally.

Check how much crit you have with your manaforge setup, aim for at least 50%.

Make sure your main skill's mana cost is high enough to trigger your manaforge setup every so often (around 5 to 15 mana cost on your main skill is likely ideal)
You can adjust the cost by changing inspiration for another support gem or adjusting the bench craft on your rings or the implicit on your helmet.

Ascendancy, Playstyle / Leveling and Progression
Spoiler
Ascendancy: The Deadeye is unrivaled when it comes to Tornado Shot / Lightning arrow or Ice shot. We get Gathering winds (tailwind) early for a fast campaign clear, then we go for Far shot and Endless Ammunition.

Bandits: Kill all.

The playstyle is straight forward; kill normal enemies with your main skill to gain onslaught and replenish quicksilver flask charges.
And drop your Ballistae on tankier enemies.

Progression:
*Note: refer to Pob for all gems and what level to start using them*

We level as a multi-elemental bow based ranger, I have greatly optimized the passive tree for you to enjoy a very fast leveling experience.

For our main skills, we start with Galvanic Arrow and a Galvanic Arrow Ballista setup to supplement the single target.

At level 12, we replace both Galvanic Arrows with Rain of Arrow.
At level 28, we replace the Ballista setup with Artillery Ballista.

We use this setup until 3rd lab where we swap our main skill with Tornado Shot/Lightning arrow/Ice shot.

In terms of gear progression, during the campaign, use whatever high elemental dps bow you find on the ground, if you get extra essences, alchemys or binding orbs, buy a high attack rate bow base from the vendor and use the currency on it until you're happy with what you get.

As soon as you can afford these uniques, absolutely buy them: Prismweave and Karui Ward. They will carry you until red maps no problem and you can equip them at level 25 / 5 respectively.

At act 5 you receive a flask reward, pick the granite flask, soon after you will grab the flask duration and flask effect node, this will tremendously improve your effective HP, make sure to press (and craft) your flasks, we get a lot of power and speed from them. Initially, you don't care too much about the rolls on your flask, as long as they don't have any of the less duration prefix modifier.

In early maps, we want to start looking on trade for Tanu Ahi and either a good elemental DPS bow, or a bow with high base attack rate and a fractured added fire, cold or lightning damage, the higher the better. Then we use an essence of wrath, hatred or anger on our fractured bow until we hit either 3 elemental modifiers or attack speed, and bench craft the one we're missing.

If done right, this setup can easily carry you into red maps.

The transition to Crit:

Do not transition to crit too early. Wait until you are at least level 75 AND have these items:

A decent elemental dps bow with either crit or an open suffix to craft crit.
Hyrri's Truth Jade Amulet (try and get a semi decent roll if they are not too expensive)
2 Rings with Non-Channeling Skills have -7 to total mana cost
A rare evasion based body armour or helmet (or both) with reservation efficiency on it.

You can roll reservation efficiency with Essences of loathing for both and/or you can use Lesser Eldritch Ichor to roll reservation efficiency as an implicit on the helmet.

Skill Gems and Links:
Spoiler
*Just refer to the PoB. I added multiple skill sets, item sets and trees, all labelled with their corresponding progression stage for ease of navigation.

Endgame, Tinctures, Charms and Spectres:
Spoiler
Pantheon:
Major God: Arakaali with at least Armala
Minor God: Abberath for burning ground immunity for Exarch altar farming or Yugul for everything else.

Gear:
*Refer to the Pob for different item sets

You have many slots for rare items which makes gearing easy.

You should use evasion or evasion hybrid bases so that you can use the evasion mastery that gives +15% chance to suppress spell damage.

The stats you care for the most are life, strength(up to 155), intelligence(up to 111), resistances (especially chaos), accuracy.

You want an open prefix on your ring, helmet and body armour to craft
-mana cost of non-channeling skills on rings and %phys taken as fire on helmet / body armour.
You also need onslaught on kill on your boot. You can either buy a pair with the mod and decent life/resist or buy a pair with an open prefix and no movement speed to bench craft the mod yourself (crafted version give less movement speed though).

Tinctures:

Tincture implicit doesn't matter too much, all damage can freeze and all damage can shock can be good for very late game if you drop the interrogation from your build. For explicit modifiers though, the obvious winner is

Weapon Attacks fire 2 additional Projectiles if you've been Hit Recently
It's quite expensive but if you get your hands on one, to receive the benefit you're gonna have to hit yourself, this can be automated with the manaforged arrow cast on crit setup linked with forbidden rite.

For budget options, any of the following is pretty good:

#% chance to gain 1 Rage when you Hit a Rare or Unique Enemy
Killing Blows against Rare Monsters have a #% chance
to grant one of their Modifiers for 60 seconds
Projectiles have #% chance to be able to Chain when colliding with terrain
#% increased Rarity of Items Dropped by Slain Enemies
#% chance to gain Phasing for 4 seconds on Kill

Charms:

For charms, there are SO many good options. I made this search to help you browse through them: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Affliction/RVeo0Rgc7
You can adjust the minimum weight and maximum price to fit your needs.
Note that you don't need duplicate of some of these modifiers, like blind on hit and power charge on crit, so if you get it once, you can remove it from your search. To search for the new Jewel "that which was taken", use the search above and under item category, replace "any charm" with "any jewel"

Spectres (new experimental tech, use at your own risk):

In Affliction league, there are now new spectres that hold some incredibly overtuned auras that we can benefit from. But you need to buy them, and if they die, well too bad.

The most overpowered one comes from the Corpse "Perfect Spirit of Fortune"
*you can buy this on trade
This spectre can double your damage; it grants a wrath aura that scales with the level of the spectre and makes your lightning damage lucky (roll twice and take the highest roll outcome)

Edit: Their Wrath aura has been nerfed by about half. Who snitched??

To best utilize this spectre, you need to increase it's level (the gem level) as much as possible, both to gain a more potent wrath aura from it and also to increase it's survivability.
Also, at gem level 25, you gain access to one extra spectre.
You can get many levels on the gem via these sources:
socket raise spectre in your gloves with either of these corrupted implicit
+1 to level of socketed gems
+2 to level of socketed minion gems
you can vaal a raise spectre gem to make the level go up to 21
you can also support it with Empower.

You should also support your spectre with Elemental army support and minion life support. Also you will need Convocation on left click.
I personally removed the cast when damage taken gems setup and some utility gems in favor of the spectre setup but this is entirely up to you if you wanna do this as well or if you want to remove some other gems instead to enable the spectre setup.

You only need one of those Spirit of Fortune spectre to get the auras, so your other spectres should be devoted to increase it's survivability (and yours).

"Perfect Meatsack" gives other minions 40% increased life
"Perfect Guardian Turtle" gives a very potent determination aura to you and other minions
"Perfect Warlord" gives vitality aura, uses enduring cry and shares it's endurance charges with you and other minions (endurance charges are even more potent on minions)

You can also change your anoint on your amulet to Death Attunement for an extra spectre.

With this roster of spectres, I leveled to 100 in Affliction league, mostly soloing 5 way legions, without them dying. My character's defenses were also very good as I also benefited from determination, vitality and endurance charges.

I'm really enjoying this build in terms of mapping speed it's so fast!

However I tried to do a sea map and got deleted by Merveil and failed to do a Maven Invitation. It get's abit rough in Single Target. Berserk rarely goes off so might need a tincture for that stun on full life. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since we're roasting builds, I could really use that.

https://pobb.in/Kb_7QmmIntCp

I feel stuck. I have no problem farming t11's. I want to switch to MF, but I just don't think I can afford it yet. 23 raw divs. Probably around 60-70 if I liquidated.

Step 1. Unsocket secrets of suffering and place the jewel in your inventory.

Step 2. Unsocket warlords mark

Step 3. Speak to lily in your hideout and sell her the jewel and gem.

Step 4. Remove Piercing Shots from your tree

Step 5. Remove Focal Point ascendancy and take Ricochet.

After making these changes, you might have an actual build. The rest of your build isn't too bad other than the your quiver and emphasis on INT. You don't need more than ~100 INT (level 21 Purity of Elements) unless you want to use minions too. You have 200, which means a lot of wasted potential when suffixes are extremely valuable. You also don't need much STR..I don't even think your steelskin will trigger lmao

You can also remove all the pathing above Perfect Agony, unspec piercing shots, crit mastery and the 1 point in Primeval Force - and this gives you enough skill points to use
-2 x 3 mod large clusters with Arcing Shot + Feed the Fury and Arcing Shot + Fuel the Fight, with the third mod in the far slot.
-1 x medium cluster (either flask or projectile).
-take thick skin wheel
-retake life mastery
-take acuity for accuracy
-take heart of oak

And you then have 3 jewel sockets for a watcher's eye (grace evade and precision multi or purity of elements phys taken as would be good budget 2 mod), that which was taken jewel and maybe an abyss jewel for phasing / damage.

Then you could quite easily slot in 2 x ventors, goldwyrms and biscos and wouldn't need much res from your ventors.

Also you probably want to roll your flasks at some point. Granite is useless and chance to gain a flask charge when you crit (prefix) has a shared global cooldown, so its garbage if you have it on multiple flasks. Maybe keep it on one flask and roll the rest with inc. duration, charge recovery or reduced uses, just whatever you roll.

edit: RE quiver, just buy a cheap feathered arrow quiver with high projectile speed and crit multi and ideally with nice prefixes too. Don't spend more than 3-4 divine, the real upgrade for quiver costs around 40-50 divine which you can grab later.

Wow that is so helpful, thank you. Had no clue the flask charges worked that way :( I feel silly.

Going to work on all of this tonight and see how far I get. Thanks a bunch!
I'm new to tornado shot, but I want to start new character and build it for t7 abyss juicing strat.

Can somebody suggest proper gear for budget of 100-200 div?
I need help with survivability on my build and any suggestion for more damage as well. Im a lvl 88 on the build and just adjusted the skill "count" tab on PoB to 5 for tornado shot to see accurate dps. I dont know if setting tornado shot's "count" to 5 is right, but I assumed it is for how many projectiles come from it (please tell me if I understand that correctly).

If anyone can look at my build and roast it to suggest any unput on where i should go, that'd be great.

Here is my build:
